PERFORMING AT THE INDIANAPOLIS 500
HEAVYWEIGHT QUARTET PART OF INDY 500'S
'RACETOTHEPARTY' WEEKEND FESTIVITIES
RIVAL SONS' song "Tell Me Something"–from their fiery debut album BEFORE THE FIRE–is being used in Izod Indy Car Series TV campaign. Almost 400,000 people will gather at the Speedway this Sunday, May 30 to celebrate speed, technology, cars and stars of the IZOD IndyCar Series.
Since forming in June 2008, the group–singer Jay Buchanan, guitarist Scott Holiday, bassist Robin Everhart and drummer Michael Miley–has received acclaim for their blend of hard rock swagger with blistering musicianship.
The website Pinpoint Music (www.pinpointmusic.com) picked BEFORE THE FIRE as one of the Top 25 albums of the year, saying, "The Rival Sons are like rock and roll defibrillators–surging electric life back into the heart of what we thought was lost." Their song "Memphis Sun" was listed on Buzzbands.la official playlist for 2009 and the Huffington Post cited them as a "band to watch." As testament to the buzz surrounding RIVAL SONS, they have opened for such powerhouse icons as AC/DC (Las Vegas, 4/09/10, MGM Grand Arena) and Alice Cooper (Los Angeles, 10/28/10, Nokia Theater).
