RIVER CITY REBELS
ANNOUNCE CD RELEASE SHOWS AND SKATE FEST PERFORMANCE
IN CONNECTION WITH SEPTEMBER 21 RELEASE OF
‘HATE TO BE LOVED’ ON VICTORY RECORDS;
CD IS #6 MOST ADDED AT COLLEGE RADIO
RIVER CITY REBELS have announced two special record release shows for their new CD HATE TO BE LOVED, due out September 21 on Victory Records. On September 19, the band will headline an all-ages matinee show at The Continental in New York. Doors are at 3:00 PM and tickets are $12.00. Each paid admission includes a copy of the band’s new CD. “We love playing New York City…all the great rockers are here and you never know who’s gonna show up and sit in,” says the BOPPER. “The REBELS are expecting some very special guests at their release party!” Then on September 24, the REBELS will headline 242 Main in Burlington, Vermont (the state where the band formed). In addition, they’re confirmed to play the Worcester, MA Skate Fest on September 17. RIVER CITY REBELS join The Early November, Throwdown, Don’t Look Down, Hidden In Plain View and many others at this annual event.
In other news, HATE TO BE LOVED–which was recorded with Sylvain Sylvain of the New York Dolls on Manhattan’s Lower East Side–was #6 Most Added at college radio this week. The glam-punk release features indie-crooner Jesse Malin–who described HATE TO BE LOVED as “a modern day punk rock take on Exile on Main Street.” Also appearing on the album: Rancid studio-weapon and Slackers frontman Vic Ruggerio on organs as well as Rolling Stones back-up singer Lisa Fischer.
RIVER CITY REBELS–BOPPER (lead vocals), PATTI BOTOX (guitar), JUNGLE FACE JAKE (guitar), RYLAN (tenor sax), BRANDON (trombone), ERIK (drums) and C.J. (bass)–spent their summer spreading their horn-laden, trashy teenage rock and roll to the masses on the Vans Warped Tour. Their DIY ethic even landed them a spot on the tour’s 10th Anniversary Reunion show in Boston where they played to a crowd of nearly 3,000.
