Brooklyn-based electronic rock music trio SAVOY today (11/16) have released “Love Is Killing Me (ft. Chali 2na)” as the first single from the group’s upcoming EP, 1000 YEARS, due out Wednesday, December 2. The single–featuring Chali 2na of the acclaimed alternative hip-hop group Jurassic 5–can be streamed on SoundCloud here and Spotify here. Additionally, 1000 YEARS is available for pre-order starting today via Bandcamp here and Google Play here.
“Love Is Killing Me (ft. Chali 2na)“ is the follow-up to SAVOY‘s previous single “Leaving You,” which went #1 on both Beatport and Hypem as well as hitting the Top 10 on the iTunes dance chart.
“‘Love is Killing Me‘ is a special track to us,” says SAVOY. “We had the idea a while ago, and right then we knew we had something really cool. It’s got a relaxed, grooving vibe, yet still packs a ton of energy as well. We’re so glad we waited on releasing the track because Chali 2na (Jurassic 5) heard it backstage at a show and we both knew it would be an amazing collaboration. Chali just adds that smooth vibe that makes you feel like, ‘we got this.’ It’s now shaped into something that we absolutely love – it works just as well on a mellow morning as it does on the big stage live at night – and to us, that’s what’s up.”
1000 YEARS is the band’sfirst collection of tracks to be released since SAVOY‘s 2014 15-track album SELF PREDATOR which EDM.com praised as “…nothing short of spectacular…Self Predator is one of the most diverse and sonically unique bass music albums I’ve heard in quite some time.” The new four-track EP-self-produced and released via Monstercat–further builds on the trio’s crossover appeal in the rock world.
SAVOY-Gray Smith (producer), Ben Eberdt (guitarist) and Mike Kelly (drummer)-will hit the road in early 2016 with the group’s trademark live shows boasting live instrumentation including Grammy-nominated vocalist Heather Bright and their electrifying light show. Their national headlining tour will kick off on Wednesday, January 6 in Nashville with stops in Atlanta, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Boston before reaching New York Friday, January 15 for a show at Irving Plaza. The 16-date outing then continues with shows in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Milwaukee, Chicago, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Omaha, Houston and Austin before wrapping Saturday, January 30 in Tulsa. Tickets for the 2016 tour dates will go on sale Friday, November 20 at 10:00 AM local time. For more information visit, www.savoyband.com and see below for full list of tour dates.
The trio remains to bethe first and only electronic act sponsored by Gibson Guitars as a resultof their captivating live shows, furthering their crossover appeal into the rock world. “The 1000 Light Years Tour symbolizes so much for us,” says guitarist Eberdt. “We want you to feel the raw energy of rock n’ roll of the past, yet also feel as though you’ve been blasted 1000 years into the future at the same time. The live show is the culmination of something we’ve been chasing our whole lives – the perfect blend of past and future.”
Eberdt adds: “The show runs on the pure guts and grime of a rock show, but with the beautiful production and massive energy of a festival dance show. The show is ERM (electronic rock music). For a moment, it might look and sound like a Led Zeppelin concert from the 70s, but seconds later the whole place is bouncing off the walls, dancing just above the rumbling bass frequencies and just beneath a grid of our laser beams. Our core sound is still bass heavy dance production but the live drums, guitar, and vocals humanize the music and bring the show to life. Savoy Live is ERM – and we’re here to fucking rock.”
Meanwhile, SAVOY encourages fans to join them on Tuesday, December 8 for a Reddit AMA (As Me Anything) to discuss 1000 YEARSand the upcoming tour.
