Brooklyn-basedelectronic rock music trio SAVOY recently kicked off their 16-date national headlining “1000 Light Years Tour” and is gearing up to bring their captivating live show to New York City’s Irving Plaza this Friday, January 15 (which will be streamed viaYAHOO! MUSIC here), in addition to many other cities in the east coast and Midwest through January 30. As the group’s Mike Kelly recently told Pollstar.com just before its January 6 launch in Nashville, the new tour “visually and sonically [is] going to be a crazy hybrid of rock ‘n’ roll and electronic dance music.” He added, “I really think this is going to be the perfect hybrid of retro meets future in a way that’s going to create a unique experience our fans haven’t seen before” (1/6/16).
The group’s trademark live shows boast live instrumentation from members Ben Eberdt (guitarist), Gray Smith (producer) and Mike Kelly (drummer) along with Grammy-nominated vocalist HeatherBright and their laser-filled electrifying light show. The trio remains to be the first and only electronic act sponsored by Gibson Guitars, furthering their crossover appeal into the rock world.

SAVOY is touring behind their recently released four-track EP, 1000 YEARS, which features the lead single “Love Is Killing Me” (featuring Jurassic 5’s Chali 2na). The track has received critical praise since its November release with EDMSauce.com saying, “Savoy known for lasers, high energy, lasers, genre melting, lasers, live shows, and did I mention lasers, show a flair for mixing hip hop, indie dance and rock n roll…’Love Is Killing Me’ shows the ingenuity of this band” (Jim Babaoglu, 11/17/15), OnlyTheBeat.com calling it “another stellar addition to their discography” (Alex Zimmerman, 11/25/15), YourEDM.com praising it as “an incredibly uplifting soundscape…funky and fun” (Matthew Meadow, 11/18/15), and LessThan3.com adding, “swinging left-coast hyphy electro-soul is the easiest way to describe ‘Love Is Killing Me’…it’s a funky outlier that’s still a well-crafted winner” (Marcus Dowling, 11/17/15). The self-produced1000 YEARS EP-released December 2 via Monstercat–is the band’sfirst collection of tracks to be released since SAVOY‘s 2014 15-track album SELF PREDATOR and further builds on the trio’s crossover appeal in the rock world. 1000 YEARS can be streamed via SOUNDCLOUD and SPOTIFY and purchased at iTunes.
