SCREAMING FOR SLIPKNOT: Look for SLIPKNOT‘s “Wait And Bleed” to be included on the soundtrack for “Scream 3,” due out in late February on Wind-Up Records. “Wait And Bleed”–from the band’s self-titled debut Roadrunner Records release which has already sold over 200,000 copies since its June release–will be heard along with songs by System Of A Down, Creed, Sevendust and others. With gale force, SLIPKNOT has leapt upon the unsuspecting world like a musical of “Clockwork Orange.” These Des Moines natives who drape themselves in industrial coveralls, surrealistic self-made masks, and unleash a musical attack that creatively redefines the word “heavy,” recently released a home video entitledWELCOME TO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard music video chart (beating out Madonna and Shania Twain) and shipped Gold. At the group’s recent headlining gig at The Roxy in New York City, fans came out in full-force, including actor Robert Isler (“The Sopranos”), who hung out with the band backstage and was wearing a SLIPKNOT t-shirt. Meanwhile, the band’s self-titled CD continues to garner critical praise from the media, including Tower Pulse who call the band “more lyrically provocative than most bands of the genre,” and Alternative Press, who said “take the bulk of the ultra-heavy releases back to the used bins; somebody finally got it right.” SLIPKNOT–#0 (DJ SIDE), #1 (drummerJOEY), #2 (bassist PAUL), #3 (percussionist CHRIS), #4 (guitarist JIM), #5 (sampler CRAIG), #6 (percussionist SHAWN), #7 (guitarist MICK), and #8 (vocalist COREY)–are currently touring Europe and will return to the States for more dates in early 2000.
