Today, January 29, Santa Barbara-native, DJ and producer SEVEN LIONS releases his highly anticipated“FALLING AWAY” FEAT. LIGHTS REMIXES EP (Casablanca Records). The EP highlights a range of sounds and producers, including: MitiS, Halogen, ZAXX and Secret Panda Society. It also includes the extended version of SEVEN LIONS’ coveted Festival Mix (#1 SiriusXM BPM and #15 Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay charts), which until now was only available exclusively on Spotify. The original track remains on iTunes Dance/Hot Tracks for a fourth week, moving up to the #4 spot last week.
The eclectic mesh of collaborators on the EP is as versatile as SEVEN LIONS’ dynamic sound. The EP begins with a MitiS Remix (premiered on Mr Suicide Sheep) that perpetuates the euphoric essence of “FALLING AWAY” while showcasing MitiS’ classically trained roots. Next is a Halogen Remix (premiered on Proximity) that is as massive as Halogen’s past year–he has hit almost 5 million plays on Soundcloud and Youtube, with two overall Hypem #1’s and 10 #1 Hypem remixes. The EP takes a climactic turn with both ZAXX (premiered on House Nation)and Secret Panda Society’s (premiered on Nexus Network)remixes of the original. With their equally as epic year, from ZAXX hitting the mainstage at Electric Zoo: Transformed, to Secret Panda Society’s upcoming Fire At Night EP, the remixes showcase the artists’ raw talent while providing the perfect segue into SEVEN LIONS’ esteemed “Falling Away” Festival Mix.
“The song ‘Falling Away’ has such a great vocal from Lights on it I knew that it deserved some epic remixes,” says SEVEN LIONS. “Mitis has been an artist on my radar for sometime so having him give it the melodic dubstep treatment was awesome. I heard Secret Panda Society from another awesome remix they did for Minnesota so I was stoked to have them on the remix package. Zaxx and Halogen were both new to me and I was blown away with how well their versions turned out. Really happy with this package and definitely thinking it did the original vocal justice.”
