SHADOWS FALL
ARE TOP-SELLING BAND
ON OZZFEST SECOND STAGE;
GROUP CONTINUES TO WIN OVER AUDIENCES
Only a few weeks into Ozzfest, SHADOWS FALL are already poised as a breakout band from this year’s renowned heavy music tour. According to SoundScan, SHADOWS FALL are consistently selling more copies of their THE ART OF BALANCE CD than their second stage peers with current albums in release. THE ART OF BALANCE sold over 2,000 copies the week of July 21, placing it ahead of bands including Cradle Of Filth, Killswitch Engage, Motograter, Memento, Nothingface, Depswa, Unloco, Sworn Enemy, Grade 8, Hotwire and Voivod. Overall, the disc has scanned more than 50,000 copies since its September 17 release.
SHADOWS FALL’s national television profile is also growing. The band–BRIAN FAIR (vocals), JONATHAN DONAIS (guitar), MATTHEW BACHAND (guitar), PAUL ROMANKO (bass) and JASON BITTNER (drums)–were recently featured, alongside Korn and Disturbed, in the Ozzfest segment on Fox Sports ‘54321’ (July 15, 2003). In addition, the group’s video for “Destroyer Of Senses” can be seen on MTV2 and FUSE and the band has been profiled on both channels.
SHADOWS FALL also continues to garner accolades from the media. In a recent review of the Chicago Ozzfest, Bob Gendron of the Chicago Tribune praised their live performance by noting: “…independent-label participants…Shadows Fall–were [one of] the most promising. Shadows Fall combined whipping speed and chomping0 thrash that recalled Slayer’s mesmeric fury” (July 22, 2003). Overseas, SHADOWS FALL was prominently featured in Metal Hammer’s recent “New Wave Of American Heavy Metal” feature.
While on Ozzfest, SHADOWS FALL is staying in touch with their fans daily by doing signings at the tour’s FYE booth. They’re also performing their own shows on Ozzfest off dates. In addition, the band will be making a special appearance at Vintage Vinyl in Fords, NJ on Saturday, August 10 at 2pm. They’ll be performing a free show at the store the same day they’ll be headlining L’Amour in Brooklyn, NY.
