IN SUPPORT OF THEIR NEW ALBUM ‘MYTHMAKER’
BAND CONFIRMED FOR FIRST PERFORMANCE MAY 25
AT THE CONVERGENCE 13 FESTIVAL IN PORTLAND, OR
Electronic/industrial-rock icons SKINNY PUPPY have announced they will return to the road this spring with a brand new live show in support of their thirteenth album, MYTHMAKER (SPV America). All the highly anticipated shows will be revealed at a later date but the tour will kick off with a headlining performance slot at the Convergence 13 Festival May 25 at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR.
MYTHMAKER, just released on January 30, separates both the pretenders—and the resigned—from the sonic anthropology that has been Puppy’s stock in trade. The record received a “Best Bet 2007” nod from Billboard (1/6/07) and Kiran Aditham from the Boston Weekly Dig (1/12/07) sums up the excitement growing around MYTHMAKER, noting that SKINNY PUPPY has “…resurrected itself while somehow redefining their confrontational, esoteric soundscapes.” The old adage of “art imitating life” is patently cliché; however, a closer inspection of the big picture guarantees that SKINNY PUPPY’S OGRE and CEVIN KEY won’t be delivering love songs, party anthems or rock-radio miasma on record and certainly not on stage anytime soon.
