SLASH and his band Featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators–who unleashed their Top Ten new album WORLD ON FIRE late last month to worldwide acclaim– have now ascended to #1 at U.S. Rock Radio with the album’s hell-raising first single and title track. The new album marks SLASH’s third straight album to debut in the Top Ten and clocked over 12 Top Ten debuts around the world. Listen to the song “World On Fire” HERE and watch the video HERE.
SLASH featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators “Live From the Roxy” will air as a 90-minute concert special for broadcast exclusively on national television via DIRECTV’s Audience Network (Channel 239) on Saturday, Nov. 9th at 8 p.m. Presented by musician retailer Guitar Center, the full rock concert was filmed in 4k and 5.1 surround sound and features songs spanning SLASH’s storied career including material WORLD ON FIRE as well as Guns N’ Roses material.
Both the new album WORLD ON FIRE and the band’s explosive live performances are garnering SLASH some of the best critical acclaim of his career from media worldwide. Check out a sample of the critical reaction for the live shows and the album:
- Orange County Register “Slash, known for his guitar work in Guns N’ Roses and the supergroup Velvet Revolver, as well as his more recent solo career, showed up on stage with a wide grin. He was decked out in his signature black leather top hat and mirrored aviator sunglasses, and loyal devotees that were pressed up against the stage got an up-close-and-personal look at his mesmerizing finger work. He made it look effortless as the band launched into the opening track, ‘You’re a Lie.’ While Kennedy did 90 percent of the vocal work, bassist Todd Kerns stepped up to the mic and impressed during two songs, Slash’s solo cut ‘Doctor Alibi’ and Guns N’ Roses ‘Out ta Get Me.’ There were times when the already small venue seemed to get even smaller as Slash, who was 100 percent in the moment and in his element, would lean out into the audience and start shredding just inches from their happy faces. Beads of sweat dripped from his hands and off of the various Gibson Les Pauls he beat up during the set and the double neck guitar he brought out for ‘Anastasia.’ The band delivered an extended and powerful performance of GNR’s ‘Rocket Queen,’ and it was certainly a memorable moment when Slash walked to the very front of the stage, stood up on the amp, hoisted his guitar up on his knee and dug into ‘Sweet Child ‘O Mine.’ Fans roared along to Velvet Revolver’s ‘Slither’ and after a quick break the band returned to encore with a very rowdy and rockin’ ‘Paradise City.’” (Sept. 24, 2014)
- Loudwire “The hometown hero started his journey at the legendary Troubadour for a sweaty, packed, no holds barred performance that left those in the crowd rocked to the core and wanting for more. The headlining act was welcomed with a carnival-like soundtrack before launching into the show opener ‘You’re a Lie.’ ‘Nighttrain’ followed, giving audiences their first of several Guns N’ Roses classics of the night, while ‘Halo’ and ‘Standing in the Sun’ kept the momentum going and the energy high. It was six songs in before Slash and his band tackled the new material, but ‘Stone Blind’ was a solid choice to lead off with as the track was met with a rousing reaction and no noticeable drop off from the crowd. After ‘You Could Be Mine,’ Kennedy turned the vocals over to bassist Todd Kerns for a pair of tracks — ‘Doctor Alibi’ and the GN’R classic ‘Out Ta Get Me.’ The band chose this night in West Hollywood to provide the live debut of ‘Wicked Stone’ off the World on Fire album and this blistering song turned into an all-out jam with the crowd responding in kind. ’30 Years to Life,’ ‘Bent to Fly’ and the current single ‘World on Fire’ also provided a great live representation of the newly released Slash album as well. As for the remainder of the set, it was populated with GN’R favorites like ‘Rocket Queen,’ which featured an epic Slash guitar solo, ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ and the encore favorite ‘Paradise City.’ Other standouts included the Velvet Revolver favorite ‘Slither,’ with Kennedy leading the crowd in fist-pumping and singing along, and Slash’s own standouts ‘Starlight,’ ‘Anastasia’ and ‘By the Sword.’” (Sept. 24. 2014)
- Guitar World “…as a diverse record that covers a multitude of musical feels with a rawness and energy that’s reminiscent of Slash’s early work with Guns N’ Roses. Make no mistake about it: World On Fire is not a solo project. It was recorded by a band with all four members contributing their strengths as a whole.” (Sept. 2, 2014)
- Premier Guitar “With his current band, it appears Slash has found something he’s been looking for: a band that ignites together…This chemistry comes through on the group’s new album ‘WORLD ON FIRE.’ With its cohesive sound, this naturally flowing collection of 18 barnburners provides a foundation for Slash’s extraterrestrial, high-flying tones and extensive soloing.” (August 2014)
- The Sun (U.K.) “The title track is an energetic rock anthem filled with the unmistakably jagged bluesy riffs and solos from Slash’s guitar. Other highlights are the unstoppable ‘Wicked Stone’ and the more mellow ‘Avalon.’” (Sept 20, 2014)
- Guitar Player “The group [Slash with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators] is now three albums into their career, and its latest, WORLD ON FIRE (Dik Hayd)—tracked as usual on analog tape—features some of the warmest-rock guitar textures, most dimensional and contrapuntal guitar arrangements, and most downright killin’riffs Slash has ever delivered. It also features camaraderie, chemistry, work ethic, and to use a rhythm section term, gelling that Slash-after paying more than his share of drama dues with those other two bands-certainly deserves. In Kennedy, Slash has found a lead singer who not only kills both the new stuff and the old, he also shows up to soundcheck on time. Guns, Revolver and Snakepit were all cool, but Slash now playing huge crowds under his own name, and playing the music he wants to, has finally found his real dream band.” (Cover story, Oct. 2014)
- ArtistDirect.com “delivered a brash, ballsy, and brilliant seventeen-song slab in the form of World on Fire. Slash’s third solo album feels like a new beginning not only for the guitar god, but for rock music as well.” (September 15, 2014)
- Sunday Mail (U.K) “…A high octane ride.” (Sept 21, 2014)
- The Times (U.K.) “’Safari Inn’ is a heavy-duty, axe-wailing instrumental off new album ‘WORLD ON FIRE.’” (Sept 20, 2014)

WORLD ON FIRE marks SLASH’s third solo offering and second album with his official band The Conspirators which features MYLES KENNEDY (vocals), BRENT FITZ (drums) and TODD KERNS (bass). For WORLD ON FIRE (released on Slash’s own Dik Hayd International and distributed through Caroline), SLASH and the band worked with producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Alter Bridge, Falling In Reverse, Incubus) to create a powerful new turn for the band in 17 songs. WORLD ON FIRE is the follow-up to 2012’s Apocalyptic Love which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and earned SLASH two No. 1 U.S. rock radio hits–his first-ever solo–with “You’re A Lie” and “Standing In The Sun.”
