SLIGHTLY STOOPID’s Miles Doughty made a childhood dream come true last night (7/30) by throwing the first pitch at the San Diego Padres vs. St. Louis Cardinals game at Petco Park. The Ocean Beach, CA native and co-founding band member said of the event, “Throwing out the first pitch was an awesome experience. Thanks to the Padres, Tyson Ross, and everyone that made it all possible!“

SLIGHTLY STOOPID is currently in the midst of their “Summer Sessions 2014” tour, which took over the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in San Diego this past Saturday (7/26) for their annual hometown headlining show in front of 10,000 fans, friends and family. Post Padres game, Doughty hopped a redeye flight to Boston, where the tour kicks off its second half tonight (7/31) at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion. The band will then perform at the Gathering of the Vibes festival this weekend before hitting Philadelphia, Asbury Park, Richmond, Baltimore, Raleigh, Atlanta and Boca Raton, FL with support from Stephen Marley and G. Love & Special Sauce. They’re also set to headline two nights of the Blackwater Music Festival in Live Oak, FL August 22 and 23. All “Summer Sessions 2014” dates are listed below and at www.slightlystoopid.com.

The “Summer Sessions 2014” tour—the acclaimed California ensemble’s eighth annual headlining summer amphitheater outing—has already played up and down the west coast with the help of friends NOFX, Stephen Marley, Cypress Hill, G. Love & Special Sauce, The Expanders and Fishbone, rotating along the way. Of the eclectic lineup this summer, Ramon Gonzales from the Orange County Register summed it up best saying, “from hip-hop to punk, the parallels of the evening were no doubt purely about the party” (7/21/14). Describing opening night in Eugene, OR, Chris Naugle from GRATEFULWEB.COM adds, “using their comprehensive understanding of reggae traditions as a springboard for adventurous cross-pollination experiments, Slightly Stoopid made like mad scientists and delivered a monster set in Eugene. They’re a tight, mature, road-tested unit, currently enjoying top form and they shouldn’t be missed” (7/16/14).
