SLIPKNOT
RECEIVE “BEST METAL PERFORMANCE” GRAMMY NOMINATION
FOR “LEFT BEHIND”
BAND TO UNLEASH “MY PLAGUE”
THE FIRST SINGLE FROM ‘RESIDENT EVIL’ MOVIE SOUNDTRACK
Adding to the notoriety of their critically acclaimed platinum album IOWA (Roadrunner/Island Def Jam), SLIPKNOT have received a “Best Metal Performance” Grammy nomination for their Top 25 Mainstream and Active Rock hit “Left Behind.” This marks the band’s second Grammy nod in this category. SLIPKNOT were nominated for “Wait and Bleed”–off their self-titled debut album which went on to sell over two-and-a-half million worldwide–in 2001.
In other news, SLIPKNOT are preparing to unleash a new single in the coming weeks, “My Plague (New Abuse Mix).” The group recently went into a Des Moines studio, on a brief break from touring, to remix the track with producer Terry Date (Deftones, Pantera). A complete aural assault, “My Plague (New Abuse Mix)”–set to impact radio February 25–is also the feature song and first single off the soundtrack to the forthcoming movie Resident Evil. Based on the top-selling video game series, Resident Evil will be released nationwide via Sony Screen Gems on March 15 with the soundtrack hitting streets March 12 on Roadrunner Records. Also in the film world, SLIPKNOT will be seen performing their song “I Am Hated” live in the forthcoming Rollerball movie, which premieres February 8.
SLIPKNOT–DJ SID WILSON, drummer JOEY JORDISON, bassist PAUL GRAY, percussionist CHRIS FEHN, guitarist JAMES ROOT, sampler CRAIG JONES, percussionist SHAWN CRAHAN, guitarist MICK THOMPSON and lead singer COREY TAYLOR–are currently on the road in Europe. Catch the KNOT in the following markets:
