SOiL CONFIRMED FOR OZZFEST SECOND STAGE
AND JOIN SEVENDUST ON THE ROAD
FOR MONTH-LONG U.S. TOUR; NEW SINGLE “BREAKIN ME DOWN” IMPACTS
ACTIVE ROCK RADIO MAY 20TH
AS ‘SCARS‘ ALBUM CONTINUES TO BUILD
Coming off a handful of European dates with Adema, SOiL are currently on tour with Sevendust for a six-week U.S. trek which takes them across the country and wraps in Kansas City on May 23. The band–vocalist RYAN McCOMBS, bassist TIM KING, drummer TOM SCHOFIELD and guitarists ADAM ZADEL and SHAUN GLASS–will then head back overseas for Extreme, a one-day festival featuring the best in current heavy rock, hardcore and punk. SOiL have also scored a coveted spot on Ozzfest ’02. The band will perform on the second stage during the first leg of the tour that runs from July 6 to August 7.
SOiL‘s success story continues to build as their J Records’ debut album SCARS has soared above 130,000 copies in sales and the band continue to play to full houses across the U.S. After already having two breakthrough songs at rock radio with “Halo” and “Unreal,” the third single from SCARS–“Breakin Me Down”–will impact active rock radio May 20 as well as appear in the trailer for the up-coming Vin Diesel film TRIPLE XXX.
Here’s a sampling of what the press are saying about SCARS:
“SCARS is the heavy metal record mainstream America has been waiting more than a decade for–not because they want it, but because they need it. In a genre in need of a facelift, Soil should set the standard for years to come.” –Paul Gargano, Metal Edge, December 2001
“Scars is a refreshingly stripped-down all-riff/no-rap affairÉ” –Andy Langer, Revolver, March/April 2002
“Scars is untainted rock ‘n’ rollÉ’Halo,’ ‘Wide Open’ and ‘Breaking Me Down’ are ripe, sweet, luscious cherries on top of your hard rock sundae.” –CMJ Weekly, September 17, 2001
