STARS ALIGN
SET TO JOIN ATREYU’s BRANDON SALLER FOR
HIS FIRST-EVER SOLO SHOW
THURSDAY, JANUARY 14
AT CHAIN REACTION IN ANAHEIM
STARS ALIGN, the powerful new pop/rock quintet from Los Angeles, just released their self-titled three-song digital EP plus video December 1 via iTunes iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, Napster and eMusic: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=340027220&s=143441. On the heels of their performance last week at the Whisky on the Sunset Strip, the group has announced they’ll join Atreyu’s Brandon Saller for his first-ever solo show on Thursday, January 14 at Chain Reaction in Anaheim (1652 West Lincoln Avenue Anaheim, CA 92801-5501). For this one-night-only show, Endless Hallway, Beta Wolf and Dead Country will also support.
For their debut EP and their forthcoming full length, the group–JOHN STEPHENS (lead vocals, keyboards), ROB HILBURGER (guitar), HENRY FLURY (guitar), SEAN MCKINNEY (drums) and DAN CAMACHO (bass)– teamed with Joe Don Rooney of Rascal Flatts to produce. “Joe Don caught our show at the Troubadour earlier this year,” explains lead singer and keyboardist JOHN STEPHENS. “Joe approached us after our show. At first we were apprehensive as we sound nothing like country, but Joe was looking to get behind a rock band so we went down to his Blackbird Studios in Nashville to feel it out. Blackbird was impeccable and ended up being the perfect place to write and record. Good music is good music, despite the genre. We ended up writing a few songs with Joe Don and his partner Monty Powell. We’ll head back to Nashville early in the year to finish our full-length.”
Anthemic and hook-driven, STARS ALIGN deliver an unapologetic delivery of melodic, arena-ready rock meant to unite music lovers from all across the spectrum. From the first single "Don't Bring Me Down" to the infectious, sing-along "Wrong," STARS ALIGN influences such as The Cure, Jimmy Eat World, The Killers and Coldplay as a jumping off point to create their own sound.
For the “Don’t Bring Me Down” video, STARS ALIGN tapped award-winning filmmaker and music video mastermind Darren Doane (Blink-182, Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, AFI, Deftones) to direct. Shot at various locations throughout Los Angeles, the clip features appearances by Jayde Nicole (of MTV’s “The Hills” and Playboy’s “Playmate of the Year” for 2008) as well as a cameo from Joe Don Rooney. The video received a world premiere on MTV’s “The Hills-After Show,” and can now be seen via Fuse On Demand. Check it out here: http://fuseblog.typepad.com/fuseblog/2009/11/video-of-the-day-stars-align-dont-bring-me-down-web-exclusive.html. Expect the group to announce a West Coast tour soon.
