ANNOUNCE
“TAKE THE COUNTRY BACK TOUR”
24-CITY U.S.TREK;
ANTI-FLAG TO JOIN NOVEMBER 29 SHOW AT TERMINAL 5 IN NYC
“Everyone has the right to Life, Liberty and Security.”
–Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948
STATE RADIO perform at the Denver Coliseum today alongside Rage Against the Machine, MC5’s Wayne Kramer, Flobots and The Coup for the “Tent State Music Festival.” Co-sponsored by Iraq Veterans Against The War, the show takes place just blocks away from the DNC and will be preceded by a march to the Pepsi Center.
On the heels of the show, the Boston rock trio have announced they’ll headline the “Take The Country Back Tour” this fall. Joining STATE RADIO as support on the trek will be Bongo Love who hail from Harare, Zimbabwe. Bongo Love’s afro-beat music and positive stance in the face of immense hardship represents the people of Zimbabwe who experience human rights violations on a daily basis. In a special show on November 29 at Terminal 5 in New York City, renowned punk rockers Anti Flag will join the bill.
“The ‘Take The Country Back Tour’ is dedicated to the people who’ve been victims of the government cut backs," says STATE RADIO frontman CHAD STOKES URMSTON. "Whether it’s veterans unable to pay for their hospital bills or inner-city kids who’ve lost funding for their music program, all of these issues are human issues and have been disregarded for so long. We’d like you to join us in finding your voice and taking the country back.”
STATE RADIO would like to be part of a future in which people come first, and this 24-city U.S. trek will bring attention to the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The tour intends to spread the message of respect, fairness, justice, and equality and recognize the value and dignity of all people. In this key fall U.S. presidential election, it is paramount the U.S. Government is held to a higher standard and be accountable to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Tour markets will include pivotal swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio and Florida, among others.
STATE RADIO–CHAD STOKES URMSTON (singer/guitarist), CHUCK FAY (bass) and MIKE “MAD DOG” NAJARIAN (drums)–stands united in support of Amnesty International’s “Small Places Tour.” At each tour stop this fall, fans will be given multiple opportunities to get involved:
1) Participate: Make Your Voice Heard-Get Out The Vote: “Take The Country back” is booked in swing states to remind voters in all states that on November 4, our voices can be heard and we can elect a government that is a true representation of the voice of the people. Fans will be given the opportunity to sign petitions that will be delivered to the U.S. government.
2) Activate: Fans, led by the band, will be involved with local action groups in each city ranging from community service groups, to organized protest groups and fund raising for grassroots Human Rights organizations
3) Educate: At each show fans will be given the opportunity to learn about Human Rights and the different organizations under the Human Rights umbrella, which include:
