CONFIRM FALL TOUR PLANS
Continuing to earn praise as "…one of the best live bands on the planet (Fort Worth Star-Telegram, 6/30/06),” THE BLACK CROWES will conclude their highly acclaimed nine-week summer trek of free-spirited music with special guests Robert Randolph & The Family Band and Drive-By Truckers on August 12 at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. After CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON perform a special fans-only "Brothers of a Feather" acoustic concert the following night at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, THE BLACK CROWES will take a well-deserved month off before heading back out on the road to spread their freak ‘n’ roll on a newly announced fall tour.
Kicking off September 7 in Richmond, VA, the new leg of dates will be highlighted by the band’s October 28 performance at the second Vegoose festival in Las Vegas at Sam Boyd Stadium and wraps up November 12 at the Love Ride in Castaic, CA.
Since reuniting and re-connecting with their loyal fans last year, THE BLACK CROWES have been performing what some called "the best shows of their career." While they achieved a career watermark by headlining their New Year's Eve show at Madison Square Garden, the band—Chris Robinson (vocals), Rich Robinson (guitars), Marc Ford (guitars), Eddie Hawrysch (keyboards), Sven Pipien (bass) and Steve Gorman (drums)–also played seven sold-out shows at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom, performed five-nights at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles and were headliners at three of the most prestigious festivals in America (New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Bonnaroo, and Austin City Limits Festival). Summing up the allure of THE BLACK CROWES' concert experience, Mikael Wood of The Village Voice (12/28/05) said the band "remain one of rock's best live acts, as hard-grooving as during their heyday and caked with an extra layer of rambling-man soulfulness."
"They're back after a long break and as strong as ever…[Chris] Robinson possesses a mighty voice…Rich Robinson's rock-solid Muscle Shoals guitar — also hit the mark."
–Michael Eck, ALBANY TIMES UNION, July 31, 2006
“ Singer Chris Robinson’s rich, husky voice was strong and supple. He’s never sounded better. Guitarist (and brother) Rich headed one song, the sweet ‘Up on Cripple Creek,’ beautifully.”
–Linda Laban, BOSTON GLOBE, July 25, 2006
“Rich Robinson’s guitar skills are at an all-time high…”
–Jed Gottlieb, BOSTON HERALD, July 25, 2006
"…one of the best live bands on the planet."
–Malcolm Mayhew, FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, June 30, 2006
"…rock with both the roll and the soul by an act that's grown into great American band stature."
–Rob Patterson, DALLAS OBSERVER, June 29, 2006
