THE BLACK CROWES READY TO ROLL OUT
"SHO' NUFF TOUR" JUNE 19;
BAND TO PREVIEW SONGS FROM THEIR
FORTHCOMING COLUMBIA DEBUT ALBUM ON THIS SPECIAL LIMITED ENGAGEMENT
WARM-UP TREK ENCOMPASSING VERY INTIMATE CLUB DATES
THE BLACK CROWES have set June 19 for the launch of their "SHO' NUFF TOUR"–a special limited engagement warm-up trek encompassing very intimate club dates.
For six weeks, the band–CHRIS ROBINSON, vocals; RICH ROBINSON, guitars, vocals; STEVE GORMAN, drums; EDDIE HARSCH, keyboards; and the newest CROWE, bassist SVEN PIPIEN–will tour selected markets. They'll play a mix of BLACK CROWES classics like "Jealous Again," "Twice As Hard," "She Talks To Angels," "Remedy" and "Hotel Illness," alongside such new songs as "By Your Side," "Horsehead" and "Kicking My Heart Around."
The new tunes will appear on the band's as-yet-untitled fifth album, which is being produced in New York City by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith's Nine Lives). Due in September, it will mark their debut album for Columbia Records and underlines the blues-based hard-edged rock `n roll the band is known for.
In a recent interview with Addicted To Noise, guitarist Rich Robinson revealed: "It (the album) encompasses all four records but it's definitely now in a rock format. The songs are very succinct, not jammy rock songs. It's a very rock record. We're a rock band. In the middle of the Furthur Tour (last year), we were like, `Hey, you know what? We're a fuckin' rock band,' and CHRIS was like, `I'm a fucking lead singer.' Something clicked and we're back writing rock songs, which is what we're good at."
Stay tuned for news about official release dates for the album and its first single. Meanwhile, keep in mind: This "Sho' Nuff Tour" ain't the real tour, so if you want to see THE BLACK CROWES this summer…don't miss these limited engagement warm-up dates. The full-on tour by THE BLACK CROWES will launch in October.
