THE BLACK CROWES TO TEAM WITH
LENNY KRAVITZ FOR TREK
OF MAJOR OUTDOOR AMPHITHEATRES
APRIL 23-MAY 30
THE BLACK CROWES will follow their in-progress "Souled Out" tour by teaming with Lenny Kravitz for a trek of major outdoor amphitheatres April 23-May 30. Encompassing 24 dates in most major areas of the country, the trek will also feature Everlast as well as Cree Summer.
Known as "The Most Rock N' Roll Rock N' Roll Band In The World," THE BLACK CROWES—CHRIS ROBINSON, vocals; RICH ROBINSON, guitars, vocals; STEVE GORMAN, drums; EDDIE HARSCH, keyboards; bassist SVEN PIPIEN; and touring guitarist AUDLEY FREED–are presently criss-crossing America on a tour most recently highlighted by three sold-out nights at New York City's Beacon Theatre. The trek is in connection with their Columbia Records debut album BY YOUR SIDE, which is being critically hailed as their best album yet. A fiery blend of rock and soul, it was launched with the #2 Billboard "Rock Track," "Kicking My Heart Around." The first official single is the newly released "Only A Fool," which the band performed February 26 on Late Night With Conan O'Brien. Meanwhile, the band are already confirmed to appear April 28 on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
In other news, look for THE BLACK CROWES to have a strong presence on VH1. First up: the debut of their "Only A Fool" video, which the channel has added out of the box. Then, on Sunday, May 9, the band will be the subject of their own hour-long "Behind The Music" special. It'll be a revealing look inside the life and times of the controversial band who released their debut album SHAKE YOUR MONEY MAKER back in 1990. Meanwhile, the newly released official first single "Only A Fool" is already a Top Ten rock track and debuted at #20 on the triple-A chart. The success of the song–an infectious mix of rock, soul and pop–will be fueled by the video, a colorful and eye-grabbing visual experience. Directed by Al Yankovic and shot in the band's Atlanta hometown, it captures THE BLACK CROWES in all their feathered glory.
Writing about the intensity of THE BLACK CROWES live, Steve Morse of The Boston Globe recently noted: "…you know that the Crowes are going to speak their mind, crank up the decibels, and remind people that gritty, dirty-sounding rock `n' roll is the only way to go. Raggedly glorious, recklessly impetuous, and an absolute must-see if you love the medium."
