READY ‘THE UPSIDE’
FOR OCTOBER 6 RELEASE
AUSTRALIAN ACT
TO TOUR WITH
RUSTED ROOT
BEGINNING SEPTEMBER12
For THE UPside, the KIN joined forces with legendary producer Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith, The Who). “Jack had a trick up his sleeve for every problem we came across and always looked to find the real emotion in a performance,” ISAAC says. “He helped us translate ideas we had no clue how to express and made it so we forgot we were making a record.”
The album was recorded in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle, enabling the group to “make a truly West Coast album, although we love New York with all our heart,” says Isaac. “We wanted a brighter and more melodic sound and we thought the West Coast would bring something we couldn't find in NYC.”
The album showcases the brothers’ dynamic bond and accomplished songwriting and musicianship. In addition to writing all the tracks on THE Upside, both sang on all the songs and Isaac contributed vocals, piano, Rhodes and harmonium, with Thorry adding guitars, piano and bass. The record will be released through their own Aletheia Entertainment, the partnership with businessman Philip Stephano, which was also behind the group’s Rise & Fall (2007).
