THE LIVING END TO JOIN
NO DOUBT AND BLINK-182 ON U.S. TOUR;
NEW ALBUM ‘MODERN ARTillery’ OUT MARCH 2 ON REPRISE
Just weeks away from the March 2 release of their new album MODERN ARTillery (Reprise), Australia’s THE LIVING END have been invited to join the majority of the dates on the high-profile No Doubt and Blink-182 U.S. tour, launching June 1 in Indianapolis. The arena/outdoor amphitheater trek will include the June 26 finale at San Bernardino, California’s massive Hyundai Pavilion.
THE LIVING END dates with No Doubt and Blink-182 will follow the group’s month-long Australian Invasion Tour with The Vines and Jet, running March 11 through April 16. The band–known for their fiery live performances–will warm up for all this excitement with a week of special West Coast headlining club dates March 3-8 with Maxeen and Jackson supporting.
Meanwhile, MODERN ARTillery received praise in the new issue of FHM (March 2004): “Conveniently ignoring their nation’s pleasant climate and all-round good cheer, this Australian old-school punk trio’s third album musters palpable anger. ‘Who’s Gonna Save Us?’ and ‘Maitland Street’ feature Rancid-sized sing-along choruses.” In a recent five-star CD review, Alternative Press described the album as “wonderfully combustible” (January 2004). Elsewhere, Billboardpraised “Who’s Gonna Save Us?” by noting: “The punky Australian trio is clearly at its most inspired when it comes to stomping, scream-along vocals, and ‘Gonna Save’ doesn’t disappoint. The rollicking, politically tinged track is crisp and on-point in its full-throttle production…” (January 31, 2004).
The first single and video from MODERN ARTillery is the spirited rocker “Who’s Gonna Save Us,” which debuted as the #1 Most Added at Modern Rock radio. The album has already been certified gold in Australia, where it debuted at #3 on the album chart.
