THE PROM KINGS
SET TO RELEASE SELF–TITLED DEBUT
AUGUST 2 ON THREE KINGS RECORDS
DISTRIBUTED BY GEFFEN/UNIVERSAL;
FIRST SINGLE “ALONE” CONTINUES TO IMPACT AT RADIO AS
SECOND SINGLE “BIRTHDAY”SET TO LAUNCH IN JULY
Los Angeles-based THE PROM KINGS–four creative brothers, related not by blood but the sturdy bonds of harmony and rhythm–will release their self-titled debut August 2 on Three Kings Records, with distribution through Geffen/Universal. The band’s second single, “Birthday”–an infectious party anthem–is set to hit radio in July as “Alone”–the group’s hip-thrusting debut single–continues to impact radio stations nationwide. Meanwhile, the group’s explosive rocker “Blow” appears both in upcoming film and on the soundtrack for the DreamWorks movie The Island, which arrives in theaters July 22.
Produced by Michael Carney and Andrew Duncan, THE PROM KINGS’ debut is a white-knuckle assemblage of scorched earth anthems, goth-metal epics and spiraling, dance rockers that reconcile hard rock and emo sensibilities. THE PROM KINGS–CHRIS CARNEY (vocals), JOEY HOLLEARN (guitar), MAURICIO BRANDAO (bass) and LUKE PICKERILL (drums)–traverse the musical map, offering both hard rock fury (“Angels,” “Fade,” “Better Man”) and fearlessly passionate balladry (“The One”) in equal measure. THE PROM KINGS’ debut also features guest vocals from hip-hop phenomenon The Game on “Down.”
Stay tuned for more touring news from a band that has already shared the stage with the likes of Papa Roach, 3 Doors Down, Sum 41 and Unwritten Law, to name a few. Check out www.thepromkings.com and www.threekingsdbc.com.
