THE PROM KINGS
WELCOME HOME THE MARINES
WITH AUGUST 26 SHOW AT TWENTYNINE PALMS
On August 26, THE PROM KINGS head to Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California for a special performance to welcome the “Thundering Third”–3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment–home from Iraq. The battalion is the only Marine Corps ground force to have served three tours in Iraq.
In addition to their performance with labelmates Jewla and The View, the Los Angeles-based band–CHRIS CARNEY (vocals), JOEY HOLLEARN (guitar), MAURICIO BRANDAO (bass) and LUKE PICKERILL (drums)–will have the opportunity to dine and visit with troops and tour Twentynine Palms. The largest base in the Marine Corps, the 932-square mile Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center includes a full-scale replica of an Iraqi city for urban warfare training.
THE PROM KINGS–four creative brothers, related not by blood but by the sturdy bonds of harmony and rhythm–released their self-titled debut August 2 on Geffen/Universal-distributed Three Kings Records. The album is a white-knuckle assemblage of scorched earth anthems, goth-metal epics and spiraling dance rockers that reconcile hard rock and emo sensibilities.
THE PROM KINGS’ newest single, “Bleeding,” is already getting radio airplay nationwide, including: Sirius Satellite Radio, KISW/Seattle, KTEG/Albuquerque, KICT/Wichita, KQXR/Boise, WZZN/Chicago, KXXR/Minneapolis, KUPD/Phoenix, WKLQ/Grand Rapids, WLZX/Springfield, WKRL/Syracuse, WYBB/Charleston, KHTQ/Spokane, WWBN/Flint, WRTT/Huntsville, KKND/New Orleans and WJSE/Atlantic City.
The band traverse the musical map, offering hard rock fury (“Angels,” “Fade,” “Better Man”), party-hearty jams (“Birthday”), and fearlessly passionate balladry (“The One”) in equal measure. The album also features guest vocals by hip-hop phenomenon The Game on “Down.” The quartet’s explosive rocker “Blow” appears in Michael Bay’s The Island, as well as on the DreamWorks film’s soundtrack.
Stay tuned for more touring news from a band that has already shared the stage with the likes of Papa Roach, 3 Doors Down, Sum 41 and Unwritten Law, to name a few. Check out www.thepromkings.com and www.threekingsdbc.com.
