TRAPT
ANNOUNCE FALL U.S. TOUR
IN CONNECTION WITH “SOMEONE IN CONTROL” CD,
DUE OUT SEPTEMBER 13 ON WARNER BROS. RECORDS
As TRAPT prepare for the release of their new album SOMEONE IN CONTROL (Warner Bros.), the band have announced a major Fall U.S tour with Blindside and Aphasia. The trek launches September 22 in Chico, CA will run through mid-December.
SOMEONE IN CONTROL, due out September 13, is the follow-up to TRAPT’s nearly two million-selling self-titled debut which spawned the juggernaut #1 single “Headstrong” that earned two Billboard Awards for Best Modern Rock Track and Best Rock Track of 2003.
For SOMEONE IN CONTROL, TRAPT–CHRIS BROWN (vocals, guitar), SIMON ORMANDY (guitar), PETER CHARELL (bass) and AARON “MONTY” MONTGOMERY (drums)–teamed with the esteemed Don Gilmore (Dashboard Confessional, Pearl Jam, Linkin Park) to co-produce and the result is 11 razor sharp tracks. The first single “Stand Up”–impacting radio now–reveals the group’s strong sense of melody, soul-searching lyrics and ethereal guitar tones. Other standout tracks such as “Lost Realist” and “Influence” prove that TRAPT–“…not only evocative and versatile but also wise beyond their years” (Guitar One, 5/03)–are impressively evolving.
TRAPT has created a powerful video for “Stand Up” with the directing duo of Smith n’ Borin (a.k.a. Ryan Smith and Frank Buff Borin). Shot in downtown Los Angeles, the video is a call to arms for people to escape their tedious, monotonous and monetarily driven lives. Check out the new video for “Stand Up” online at: http://music.yahoo.com/musicvideos/.
Blindside have just released their new CD The Great Depression. The album debuted at #89 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and #8 on the Independent chart with nearly 12,000 copies sold in the first week of release. The first single, “Fell In Love With The Game,” is currently #30 at CMJ metal radio and #19 at FMQB Metal radio with 102+ spins. Look for the video directed by Shane Drake (Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights) on MTV and Fuse soon, and on Music Choice now.
APHASIA’s self-titled debut album will feature “Flatline,” the only song featured in the Steven Spielberg/Tom Cruise blockbuster “War of the Worlds” film from DreamWorks/Paramount Pictures. “Flatline” debuted at college radio in late July before reaching rock radio in September. The band recently lensed a video for “Flatline” with up and coming director Chris Simms (Lamb of God, The Kinison). TRAPT’s CHRIS BROWN produced the band’s debut album, due out September 13 via DRT Entertainment/Joint Venture Recordings. BROWN and manager Drake Sutton-Shearer co-own Joint Venture Recordings, and for their first release they partnered with DRT which is distributed by Navarre. Music Choice–the premier multi-platform music network that reaches millions of music fans through their TVs, PCs, and cell phones has signed on as the official media sponsor of the tour. Music Choice will offer special tour-related programming on Music Choice On-Demand, the free video-on-demand service that reaches over 10 million Comcast digital cable subscribers nationwide. The exclusive tour special will feature the words and music of the touring artists. In addition, the artists’ videos will be available on Music Choice On Demand through November. The Music Choice audio network, with a reach of over 40 million digital cable and DIRECTV homes nationwide, will host an exclusive album preview on the Music Choice Rock channel between September 6 and 13.
