TRAPT’S CHRIS BROWN PRODUCES DEBUT ALBUM BY
APHASIA;
SEPTEMBER RELEASE TO INCLUDE “FLATLINE,”
FEATURED IN THE MOVIE ‘WAR OF THE WORLDS‘
CHRIS BROWN, lead singer and songwriter of the platinum rockers TRAPT, has produced the debut album for the Northern California rock band APHASIA, due out September 13 via DRT Entertainment/Joint Venture Recordings. Brown and manager Drake Sutton-Shearer co-own Joint Venture Recordings, and for their first release they partnered with DRT which are distributed by Navarre.
APHASIA’s self-titled debut album will feature “Flatline,” the only song featured in the Steven Spielberg/Tom Cruise blockbuster “War of the Worlds” film from DreamWorks/Paramount Pictures. “Flatline” will debut at college radio in late July before reaching rock radio in September. The band recently lensed a video for “Flatline” with up and coming director Chris Simms (Lamb of God, The Kinison). Check out APHASIA at www.myspace.com/aphasia or www.aphasiaonline.com.
APHASIA’s album marks the first project from CHRIS outside of his work in TRAPT, one of the most successful breakout rock bands of the last two years. Building on the strengths of their nearly two million-selling self-titled 2002 Warner Bros. debut which featured “Headstrong” (the Billboard-winning Best Modern Rock Track and Best Rock Track of 2003), TRAPT will release their follow-up album SOMEONE IN CONTROL September 13. Throughout the album, TRAPT merge haunting guitar atmospherics with rhythmic dynamism and CHRIS’ alternately tender and explosive vocals. The first single “Stand Up” was the most added song at rock, active and alternative radio this week.
