YANNI
TO HOST LIVE BACKSTAGE WEBCAST
INCLUDING HIS FIRST-EVER LIVE WEB PERFORMANCE
IN ADVANCE OF SUNDAY, MAY 8
NOKIA THEATRE L.A. LIVE SHOW
Following a successful interactive online Q&A earlier this year, multi-platinum, GRAMMY-nominated, global phenomenon, YANNI will now invite fans even further into his world with a live private backstage broadcast as he prepares for his Sunday, May 8 show at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. Beginning at 5:00 PM (PT) at http://ustream.tv/Yanni, YANNI will answer fan questions, give a backstage tour and offer fans an inside look as show preparations are being finalized. The webcast will also include an exclusive live performance of “Voyage” (marking YANNI’s first-ever live web performance) from his TRUTH OF TOUCH CD. Fans can submit questions in advance via YANNI’s social networks or at ask@yanni.com, questions will also be fielded live during the broadcast solely at ask@yanni.com.
In support of his latest album TRUTH OF TOUCH (released February 8 via YanniWake and Rocket Science Ventures) and (globally released by Sony Classical International), YANNI has truly embraced the new technology that has emerged since his last instrumental release of original compositions, more than eight years ago.
“It’s a new world and I am thrilled at the way I can easily communicate with my fans around the world,” YANNI says. “These new forums also allow music lovers everywhere to connect.”
Earlier this year, YANNI participated in a March 16 TV-quality live webcast that has already been viewed over 150,000 times. Beyond the webcast, YANNI has taken an active role in his interaction with fans with regular updates from the road via his Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/OfficialYanni), which has grown to 600,000 members in less than nine months, Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/yanni) and You Tube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/yannivideos?feature=mhum). (with millions of views) He's also created an international social network called YanniCommunity (www.YanniCommunity.com) which provides a worldwide forum for fans to connect with each other and communicate in their native languages, meet up before shows and network with fellow fans.
YANNI is currently on a North American tour in support of his TRUTH OF TOUCH album, which marks a return to the genre YANNI has helped to create and advance, yet is unmistakably YANNI, with a fresh, edgy new sound. The remaining dates of the U.S. tour are below and purchase links are available at http://www.yanni.com/tour. Keep up with YANNI at www.yanni.com.
