(March 30, 2012) The Allman Brothers Band (ABB) is proud to present the first Annual Peach Music Festival. It will take place on multiple stages over the course of three days at Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain and Sno Mountain Ski Area & Water Park in Scranton, PA Friday, August 10 through Sunday, August 12th. This will be the first-ever ABB-inspired festival in the Northeast Pennsylvania (NEPA) region, and they’re bringing all their family & friends with them – including Zac Brown Band, Warren Haynes Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, O.A.R., Railroad Earth, The Wailers, Dark Star Orchestra, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Blackberry Smoke and more to be announced.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, April 4 at Noon and will be available at LiveNation.com, Toyota Pavilion Box Office (on sale and day-of-show only) or by-phone at 800-745-3000.
The Allman Brothers Band – GREGG ALLMAN (vocals and keyboards), BUTCH TRUCKS (drums and tympani), JAIMOE (drums), WARREN HAYNES (vocals, lead and slide guitar), DEREK TRUCKS (slide and lead guitar), OTEIL BURBRIDGE (bass) and MARC QUINONES (congas and percussion) — will first grace the Peach Stage at Toyota Pavilion with an epic, full late-night set on Friday night. Taking the stage earlier that evening will be the Warren Haynes Band. In the headlining slot on Friday, the band invited one of music’s most celebrated acts – and fellow Georgia brethren – Zac Brown Band to perform. The Peach fans will not be disappointed by the awe-inspiring musicianship and dynamic live show delivered by two-time Grammy Award-winning Zac Brown Band.
In addition to the ABB headlining again Saturday night, the Peach Stage at Toyota Pavilion will be highlighted with sets from Tedeschi Trucks Band and O.A.R. The music continues all day and into the early morning on the Mushroom Stage at Sno Mountain with performances by Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Railroad Earth, Toubab Krewe and more, culminating in a special late-night performance by The Wailers.
On Sunday, fans will see a more stripped-down side of The Peach on the Mushroom Stage at Sno Mountain as the festival draws a close, including a mighty Gospel Brunch musical celebration with Robert Randolph & The Family Band and the Blind Boys of Alabama.
“Nothing quite like spending the weekend with our family and friends in the mountains,” said the Allman Brothers Band. “We’ve put together a line-up of our favorite bands, to make the first annual Peach Music Festival something our fans will really enjoy.”
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees started off the year with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, along with celebrating the 40th anniversary of their iconic 1972 album Eat A Peach in a big way, by hailing 2012 “The Year of the Peach.” This month, the band also performed their annual residency at New York City’s Beacon Theatre – which they’ve done since 1989 – where ABB performed 10 sold-out shows in March.
“Together with our friends, the legendary Allman Brothers Band, we set out to create a music festival that could truly be enjoyed by our loyal fans in NEPA and attract fans from all over the country,” said Geoff Gordon, Regional President of Live Nation Philadelphia. “You look at this incredible line-up, the camping, the water-park, the multiple stages – we’re happy to say we have it all, so to speak, from ‘A’ – the Allman Brothers Band to ‘Z’ – the Zac Brown Band.”
