Toronto electronic group AZARI & III returns with the release of their REMIX ALBUM out now and the LOST IN TIME EP out this spring, both on Dim Mak Records. The REMIX ALBUM consists of some of the best AZARI & III remixes by today’s leading producers in the underground electronic movement. The compilation features classic AZARI & III remixes—including “Reckless (With Your Love)” (Tiga’s What Iz House Muzik? Remix), “Hungry for the Power” (Jamie Jones Ridge Street Remix) and “Into the Night” (Nicolas Jaar Remix)—as well as several rarities like “Manhooker” (Locked Groove’s Escape To NYC Remix) and “Indigo” (Voyeur Remix) and many other gems. The REMIX ALBUM runs the gamut of electronic subgenres and sonic moods from the polished disco of “Into The Night” (Prince Language Remix), the tortured “Hungry For The Power” (Sei A Remix), the future synth assault of “Manic” (Disclosure Remix), the funk-fueled bass of “Hungry For The Power” (Art Department Remix) and many more. Available for the first time in a single collection, the REMIX ALBUM gathers the premier AZARI & III remixes around for an elite anthology of electronic music production. Following the release of the REMIX ALBUM, AZARI & III will unleash the LOST IN TIME EP this spring featuring the original version of “Lost In Time” from their celebrated self-titled debut album and remixes from Finnish house producer/DJ Jori Hulkkonen and Los Angeles techno/house duo VCO. Additionally, AZARI & III are confirmed to perform at some of the most celebrated music festivals this year, including SXSW, Ultra Music Festival, Sasquatch! Music Festival and Movement Electronic Music Festival (Detroit). Listen to the REMIX ALBUM here: http://bit.ly/16f2VYP.

Chosen by Rolling Stone as one of the “10 Must-See Acts at Bonnaroo 2012,” BIG GIGANTIC—saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken—shows no signs of slowing down in 2013. In early 2012, the Boulder, CO-based electronic act released their latest album NOCTURNAL via their own label Big Gigantic Records, which is available as a free download on their website www.biggigantic.net and has already received over 250,000 downloads to date. The duo then took on the U.S. festival circuit performing to rave reviews at such top festivals as Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Ultra Music Festival, Wakarusa, Hangout, Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, Governor’s Ball, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo. On September 29, the group performed their biggest hometown show of their career when they headlined the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre for a sold-out show dubbed “Rowdytown” and became the first band to ever use projection mapping visuals on the venue’s Rocks. The Westword newspaper voted this show the #1 EDM show of 2012 in Colorado. See a video recap of the show here: http://vimeo.com/50638399. The duo’s 45-date fall headlining “Uprising Tour” featured over 2/3 of sold-out shows and received critical acclaim from the press. Justin Olsen from NITEGUIDE MAGAZINE best described their October 5 show at the House of Blues West Hollywood noting, “If there’s one word to describe a Big Gigantic show, it’s ‘Rowdy.’ Multi-tasking between playing drums, saxophone and DJing samples, Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken provide an EDM experience that’s unique and trendsetting in current times” (November). BIG GIGANTIC rang in 2013 with a sold out New Year’s Eve show in Chicago and then performed on both HOLY SHIP!! and Jam Cruise, marking the first band to ever play both cruises. The electronic act—who just wrapped an almost entirely sold-out 28-date Winter Tour–leaves no genre off-limits as they channel everything from funk and dubstep to house and hip-hop with their breakthrough sound. Formed in 2008, BIG GIGANTIC interprets traditional DJ-based music with live instruments and have successfully created an innovative, distinct sound that’s all their own.

North American dubstep pioneer DATSIK recently released the first edition of the two-part COLD BLOODED EP on his own independent label Firepower Records with the second half of the project due out later this spring. With a string of Beatport #1’s, sell-out tours, and a rapidly growing fan base, the Canadian producer/DJ and label boss has entered the New Year on an exceptionally high note, and with the release of COLD BLOODED he’s already making his claim to an even bigger 2013. For DATSIK, his Firepower imprint stands out as an extension of his revered and applauded musical persona. DATSIK‘s specialty is wrecking the dance floor. Barely out of high school, the Canadian artist and producer inked a deal with Excision’s Rottun Recordings. He released a series of successful singles and EPs and rose to prominence as a leader of the underground dubstep scene in North America. After collaborating with the legendary Korn on The Path of Totality, he toured the U.S. with the group. Then, 2012 saw him release his proper full-length debut, Vitamin D, via Dim Mak Records and featuring the epic single “Evilution” [Featuring Jonathan Davis of Korn & Infected Mushroom]. However, founding a label has always been part of his plan. FIREPOWER began formally contributing to that landscape with the release of AFK & Hizzleguy‘s 10-song EP, Full Clip. Shortly after, the second signing Getter dropped the razor sharp Psycho EP. Other acts that make up the roster include Barron, Rekoil, Terravita, The Frim, DKS, Sub Antix and DATSIK himself. With tours planned under the label banner and more music on the horizon, they’re well on their way to domination. Either duck and cover or storm the gates with them. DATSIK’s COLD BLOODED EP is available now on iTunes (http://goo.gl/47cO3) and Beatport (http://goo.gl/rElSR). Listen to the COLD BLOODED EP here: http://goo.gl/BQ98C.

deadmau5 returns to Ultra Music Festival this year for a main stage exclusive, one of a kind show. Joel Zimmerman, more commonly known as deadmau5 (pronounced ‘dead mouse’), is one of the world’s most respected electronic music producers of modern times. Enjoying international chart success with his singles “Professional Griefers,” “Sofi Needs A Ladder,” “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” and “I Remember,” he has also released four critically acclaimed albums for Ultra Music: >album title goes here<, 4×4=12, For Lack Of A Better Name and Random Album Title. The multiple JUNO Award-winning and Grammy®-nominated artist performed at the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards as part of its first ever telecast performance highlighting electronic music. His ability to push the boundaries of his talent grows at an equal rate to his fan base, which counts over 7 million on his Facebook page. A major touring act, he has headlined Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Sonar and Virgin Mobile FreeFest, and sold out Rogers Centre in Toronto and PETCO Park in San Diego, as well as multiple consecutive nights at legendary venues like the Roseland Ballroom in NYC and the Palladium in Los Angeles. He appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone (summer double issue, 2012), marking him as the first electronic artist to do so and is currently featured on the cover of VIBE. His newest singles, “Channel 42,” featuring “Animal Rights” collaborator Wolfgang Gartner and “Telemiscommunications” with Imogen Heap are out now.

DESTRUCTO has cultivated an incendiary live set that merges heavy metal bombast and propulsive, potent techno. It’s unlike anything out there, and he takes it into the studio for TECHNOLOGY, his five-song debut EP out now on Boys Noize’s emerging talent brand BNR TRAX. Featured on TECHNOLOGY, “LA Funky” seamlessly melds the techno sounds of Detroit, Chicago, Berlin and Ibiza into one perfect, year-round dance party. The EP’s title track, “Technology,” is the calling card of DESTRUCTO’s globe-trotting live performances, and drawing on the groove/build/explode dynamic he developed in his national tours with Crystal Castles and Rusko, it’s no wonder “Technology” has been in heavy rotation on Sirius XM and found its way into Boys Noize’s and A-Trak‘s festival sets. Watch the “Technology” video here: http://hardfe.st/HbMsW5. On “Stand Still,” discerning fans can also sense the influence of rising stars OLIVER, who co-produced the EP. Within its propulsive groove, a harmonically processed voice dares you to “stand still.” Rounding out the record are contributions from BNR TRAX labelmates Jan Driver and BS1, who respectively take on “Technology” and “LA Funky.” Jan Driver is Boys Noize’s secret weapon, a producer and mastering engineer extraordinaire who takes the title track into gritty mental mash-up territory. BS1 provide a skilled re-work of “LA Funky.” DESTRUCTO (Gary Richards) is also the founder of HARD Events, recognized for landmark festivals such as HARD Haunted Mansion, HARD Summer and the three-day electronic music cruise Holy Ship!

French electronic dance music quartet DIRTYPHONICS are releasing their debut full-length album IRREVERENCE March 19 on Dim Mak Records. Merging heavy bass music, drum n’ bass, dubstep and electro with grimy club energy, the group pens a new playbook for the genre supported by collaborations from the likes of Steve Aoki, Modestep, Liela Moss (vocalist of The Duke Spirit) and Foreign Beggars. Fans have already gotten a taste of what’s to come on IRREVERENCE with “DIRTY,” the first single from the album out now. The track is a sexy, slithering dance epic that’s bound to get any crowd anywhere moving. Also available now is “Walk In The Fire”—a three-song EP package featuring the original version of the song as featured on IRREVERENCE, along with remixes by Schoolboy and Culprate. Hear all three versions here: http://goo.gl/yZ4xn. “Walk In The Fire” is a metal/drum ‘n’ bass track that combines the best of two worlds, kicking off with a guttural guitar grind before coalescing into drum ‘n’ bass fueled by screams and wild production. Setting the dance floor ablaze like never before, it injects a healthy helping of heavy metal intensity into a drum ‘n’ bass dubstep monster that claws right out of the box. This pure and raw track is full of energy that will both satisfy metal and club-heads out there. Schoolboy comes with a Knife Party-like electro remix and Culprate makes an intense glitch hop version out of it. Following the release of IRREVERENCE, DIRTYPHONICS—Charly, Thomas, Pho and Pitchin—will embark on their North American “Irreverence Tour,” a 30+ date tour that takes them through many major markets as well as anticipated performances at this year’s Coachella. Their live show is a full-on sensory experience more akin to seeing your favorite band than a typical EDM act. They bring a level of energy that’s rare in modern music.

Los Angeles based-singer, songwriter and producer KERLI is breaking out with her latest track “The Lucky Ones,” the first single off her upcoming EP for Island Records, UTOPIA, set for release March 19. The song has charted at #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart (marking her second #1 dance hit) and its accompanying video has already racked up over 1 million views on YouTube. Watch the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV2Dqz7h4PE. “The Lucky Ones” is one of seven songs included on UTOPIA written and performed by KERLI. Much of it draws on inspiration from both pop and dance genres and was recorded with emerging Swedish producer duo SeventyEight and U.K. producer Switch (M.I.A., Diplo), while overseen by former Katy Perry A&R man Chris Anokute at Island Def Jam. Leading the charge is the anthemic, hook-laden “Can’t Control the Kids,” in which KERLI takes listeners on a powerful, rolling, percussive journey to the nexus of where dance and pop intersect throughout, followed by “The Lucky Ones,” an up-tempo and heartfelt number. Other highlights include the chill-inducing, piano-driven offerings “Love Me or Leave Me” and “Chemical;” and the Switch-produced break-beat track “Sugar.” Her performance on Friday, March 22 marks her Ultra Music Festival debut.

After a several year hiatus, PAUL VAN DYK returns to Ultra Music Festival for closing slots Friday, March 15 on the UMF Worldwide stage and Sunday, March 24 on the A State Of Trance 600 stage. Last year, through his sixth artist album EVOLUTION, electronic music pioneer PAUL VAN DYK changed up perceptions of the ‘PvD sound’ in a big way. Over the course of 2012, the critically acclaimed album spawned five singles, an epic, globe-circling 150+ date tour, sustained fan & press veneration (including the covers of Electronic Musician and DJ Times) and an ever-widening stylistic scope of DJ support. Now that the originals have been established, the time has come to let remixers get to work as VAN DYK’s evolution becomes an out-and-out revolution. Handpicked by the man himself–from the ready-to-break to the firmly established–the remixes have been assembled and are out now as (R)EVOLUTION: THE REMIXES on VANDIT. The offering encompasses 16 fresh-off-the-desk reworkings from a full company of VAN DYK’s fellow production studionauts. Also included is the radio edit of “Such A Feeling” ft. Austin Leeds and vocalist Elijah King, a remake of the instrumental “Verano” that has never been available in North America before. A Grammy-nominated artist and globally acclaimed DJ, Paul van Dyk has been ranked the world’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Magazine’s “Top 100 DJs” poll two times, something less than a handful of DJs have ever achieved. Other releases include VOLUME in 2009, an album of his best works to date—encompassing selections from his previous albums 45 RPM (1994), Seven Ways (1996), Out There And Back (2000), the Grammy-nominated Reflections (2003) and In Between (2007). He continues to rank firmly in the Top 10 among electronic dance artists with over 868,000 Twitter followers and 2,500,000 Facebook fans. His popular radio show VONYC Sessions can be heard on iHeartRadio’s Trancid Channel in the U.S. and over 50 stations worldwide.

Los Angeles based singer, songwriter, producer, programmer and drummer ROBERT DELONG—a “2013 Artist To Watch” by the likes of MTV, Billboard and VIBE—released his debut album JUST MOVEMENT on Glassnote Records February 5, featuring the breakout single “Global Concepts.” The video for the song recently made its debut across many various MTV channels including AMTV, MTV Hits, mtvU, MTV.com and can be seen here: http://youtu.be/nnSyu4eZkZ4. “Global Concepts” is currently building at radio stations across the country with strong play on SiriusXM’s Alt Nation. A one-man futuristic dance party with beats as cerebral as Orbital and club-ready as Calvin Harris, DELONG is also a profoundly gifted singer/songwriter who raises questions about identity and spirituality. These two elements join together on JUST MOVEMENT, a dazzling collection of dance beats, pop hooks and thought-provoking queries that could very well be the soundtrack for 2013. DELONG is the perfect artist to bring electronic dance music to Glassnote, home of Mumford & Sons, Two Door Cinema Club, Phoenix and more. Raised in the suburbs of Seattle, DELONG headed south to Los Angeles with a toolbox of Wii-motes, keyboards and drums to develop a live rock show that CMJ Magazine claims worthy of “an 8-bit warrior, seamlessly creating danceable electro beats with his Wii Remote and Sega Genesis controller on par with the Chemical Brothers.” DELONG—who began performing his genre-bending songs in 2010—uses MIDI interfaces, a full drum set, drum pads, keyboards, laptops and game controllers, looping his music live to fuse electronic dance beats with striking melodies and lyrics with emotional heart. His charismatic live performance has caught the attention of many influential promoters, landing him performance slots at such major festivals as Ultra Music Festival, Coachella, Governors Ball, Sasquatch, Kanrocksas and Firefly this spring.

Los Angeles-based songwriter/producer/beatmaker TOKiMONSTA is gearing up to release her new full-length album HALF SHADOWS April 2 on Ultra Music. HALF SHADOWS features 13 new studio productions, including her two most recent singles “The Force” featuring eclectic rapper Kool Keith and “Go With It” with NYC production duo MNDR. On “Go With It,” TOKiMONSTA unleashes a dazzling production of light chimes with conga style beats, supported with an angelic vocal by MNDR. Listen to “Go With It” here: http://youtu.be/GGEvu4H9qVg. Inspired by one of her favorite books Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami, HALF SHADOWS takes listeners on a mind-bending sonic journey. There are vocal collaborations with Los Angeles songwriter and vocalist Gavin Turek, who also appeared on TOKi’s Creature Dreams EP; Andreya Triana, a British songstress from the Ninja Tune family; and Jesse Boykins III, an emerging soul singer from Chicago by way of NYC. There are also tracks such as “808,” named for the Roland drum machine, “Soul To Seoul,” an homage to TOKi’s Korean lineage, and “Waiting For The Break of Dawn.” Look for TOKiMONSTA at Wolfgang Gartner and Friends Pool Party at The National Hotel Pool on Saturday, March 23.

Originally created as a pure EDM (electronic dance music) festival in 1999, ULTRA has grown through the years to present not only the genre’s hottest, biggest and best headline artists (The Prodigy, Swedish House Mafia, The Chemical Brothers, Tiësto, David Guetta, deadmau5, Underworld, Kraftwerk, Armin van Buuren, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Justice, Carl Cox and Avicii to name a few), but also crossover headline bands that incorporate EDM elements in their music and have a history or new beginning in the EDM community and culture (The Cure, The Killers, New Order, Duran Duran, The Black Eyed Peas, Erasure, M83, Santigold, The Ting Tings, Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun and Bloc Party). In 2012, global pop icon Madonna appeared as a special surprise guest—the festival’s gift to their fans—to introduce the main stage final headlining artist AVICII, joining him behind the decks to premiere his UMF remix of her new single “Girl Gone Wild.” The year also was the subject of CAN U FEEL IT, a major documentary feature about the festival, which was shown in over 500 theatres nationwide. Together with its signature, cutting-edge productions, ULTRA is unrivalled by consistently presenting the world’s greatest, most diverse EDM line-ups year after year. A global brand, ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL takes place in Miami, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ibiza and Korea, expanding into Europe with ULTRA EUROPE July 2013 in Croatia.
