“The live concerts are everything,” YANNI says of the live experience. “I like to move audiences emotionally and really uplift them. As a performer, it’s amazing to look at the audience and see people smiling, crying and hugging each other. On their way home, I want them to feel empowered–like they can do anything.”
YANNI fans can expect a collection of YANNI’s hits on his current tour, which launched March 22. He is performing in major cities across the U.S. and Canada including New York’s legendary Radio City Music Hall on April 9 and the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles on May 8. The full tour itinerary and purchase links are available at http://www.yanni.com/tour.
“I have the best orchestra with me that I’ve ever had and I think it is the best sounding concert,” says YANNI. “The songs are a combination of everything from the beginning of my career all the way to now.”
In his 25-year career, YANNI has accumulated more than 35 platinum and gold albums globally, with sales totaling over 20 million copies, including the double-platinum 1997 Tribute album, which sold more than one million albums within six weeks of its release, and his 1994 Live at the Acropolis album, which has sold more than 7.5 million copies worldwide (5 million in North America alone). He earned Grammy nominations for his 1992 album Dare to Dream, and the 1993 follow-up, In My Time. Throughout his greatly successful career, YANNI has performed live for over 20 million people in some of the most revered landmarks around the world from the Taj Mahal in Agra, India and the Acropolis in Athens, Greece to the Forbidden City in China.
