CREATE POLITICALLY CHARGED VIDEO FOR #1 MODERN ROCK TRACK “WASTELAND”;
BAND’S ALBUM ‘THE AUTUMN EFFECT’ SELLS OVER 225,000 COPIES
AS THEY TOUR NORTH AMERICA WITH KORN AND MUDVAYNE
4-SONG ACOUSTIC LIVE EP NOW AVAILABLE ON iTUNES
The hotly tipped 10 YEARS have created a politically charged video for their #1 Modern Rock hit “Wasteland,” the first single from their major label debut album The Autumn Effect (Republic/Universal Records), which has already sold over 225,000 copies since its August 2005 release. The potent clip–lensed by acclaimed director Kevin Kerslake and created with the help of Amnesty International–portrays violence and torment experienced by people all over the world. The band chose to take this direction with their video in an effort to help create more awareness about Amnesty International and their cause. The video can be viewed online at: www.myspace.com/10years or www.10yearsmusic.com.
Currently in the midst of a North American arena tour with Korn and Mudvayne, 10 YEARS–JESSE HASEK (vocals), BRIAN VODINH (drums), RYAN "TATER" JOHNSON (guitars), MATT WANTLAND (guitars), LEWIS COSBY (bass)–have just released a four-song acoustic live EP exclusively on iTunes. The stripped- down presentation of “Fault Line,” “Through The Iris,” “Wasteland” and “Prey” showcases the band’s warmth, compelling lyrics and musical depth. Lead vocalist JESSE HASEK commented on the group’s sound and vision in Revolver (April 2006), noting: “Music should be an expression of all your emotions…you shouldn’t have just one sound all the time.”
Since forming in Knoxville , Tennessee in 2003, 10 YEARS built a strong underground following with their independent release Killing All That Holds You. In 2005, the band signed with Republic/Universal Records, entered the studio with producer Josh Abraham (Staind, Velvet Revolver) and recorded their full-length debut The Autumn Effect. The sound is towering–and subtle, too–with HASEK unfurling imagery that challenges ("A precious gift embedded deep within your skin/But parasitic pleasures are closer than kin,” from “Half Life”) and provokes ("This time you've tried/All that you can turning you red but I will not/Hide you through this/I want you to help,” from “Wasteland”). The #1 position of “Wasteland” on the Modern Rock chart marks the first time a band has held this position with a debut single since June 2004. And the press is beginning to take notice, with Revolver noting that“ …10 Years employ moody, gut-wrenching rhythms…” (Jon Wiederhorn, April 2006).
