222–the Los Angeles-based alt rock co-ed duo of vocalist/guitarist Jade Howard and vocalist/guitarist Dennis Hamlin—today (2/7) partnered with StereoEmbers.com to premiere their official music video for “Across The Great Divide” from their recently released sophomore album, I’M NOT TRYING TO BE YOU…JUST KIDDING I’M TRYING TO BE YOU, via Howlin Hamard Records. Click here to watch the space-themed video for the dreamy synth-driven song.

Alex Green of StereoEmbers.com raves, “…’Across The Great Divide’ is a dreamy blast of electro-pop that not only boasts a hypnotic backbeat, it’s punctuated by a chorus that comes with a wistful, heartbreaking tug. Combining the percussive bliss of Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ with the lush vocal orchards of the Sundays, ‘Across The Great Divide’ is a sonic wall of futuristic bliss that gives way to a bittersweet glide into galaxies of longing.” (2/7/18)

222 create a sound that’s both irresistible and mysterious on their latest full-length offering; I’M NOT TRYING TO BE YOU…, the follow-up to their 2015 debut album, Libretto. The hooks keep coming-and so do the left turns-on the new album. Highlights include title cut, “Heart Tied In A Knot,” “Dream Trigger,” “The Mortician” and “Everywhere We Go”-which Jade admits “might be our favorite song off the record. It takes place on the road but follows me into my dreams when I doze off in the car while Dennis drives.” The 11-track self-produced album can be purchased via iTunes here.

The band is set to perform in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 25 at The Whisky A-Go-Go with Vigil of War and Dead Girls Corp. Tickets are available here.
