Following last year’s inaugural event, festival producers began work immediately on resolving concerns expressed by fans in attendance. They have worked closely with their partners at NJ Transit to improve light-rail service and capacity. As an added value for 2009, festival goers who choose to travel to the site utilizing the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail line can ride for free throughout the weekend with their ALL POINTS WEST festival ticket. Additionally, based on the popularity of the ferry as a mode of transportation from lower Manhattan to Liberty State Park, the frequency and size of the ferryboats will increase at a reduced price for festival attendees. Additional details with the ferry schedule and cost is available at the festival’s website. The producers have also worked with their partners at Liberty State Park to improve the fan experience in the beer gardens. This year’s areas will be larger, have shorter lines, and feature shade tents, views of the stages and food concessions. Full details on the beer gardens can be found at www.apwfestival.com.
Tickets for ALL POINTS WEST go on sale Friday, April 3 at 12 Noon (ET) via www.ticketmaster.com only. Single day tix are $89 and three day passes are $199 for a limited time. The same layaway plan that Goldenvoice successfully implemented with a variety of their festivals this year will also be available for APW. Festival-goers now have the option to purchase 3-day festival tickets and 3-day parking passes on a payment plan. Layaway options (available online ONLY through May 29) are as follows: the 50% down payment option allows purchasers to pay a 50% deposit of the total order now, with the remaining 50% automatically deducted July 3; a multiple payment plan whereby purchasers initially pay 10% of the total order, with the remaining amounts automatically deducted in equal payments on May 4, June 3 and July 3. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit “Friends of Liberty State Park.” The Friends of Liberty State Park is an open space advocacy volunteer organization dedicated to the park's future as a free, green and non-commercial, urban waterfront oasis.
