EVERCLEAR ANNOUNCE SUMMER TOUR:
GROUP TO BEGIN HEADLINING TOUR JUNE 29 IN PHOENIX
WITH DATES TO CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY AUGUST
EVERCLEAR continue to build on the success of their dual albums (the platinum-plus SONGS FROM AN AMERICAN MOVIE, VOL. ONE: LEARNING HOW TO SMILE and the noisy sequel SONGS FROM AN AMERICAN MOVIE VOL. II: GOOD TIME FOR A BAD ATTITUDE) with a five-week summer tour that runs from June 29 to August 5.
Set to kick off in Phoenix, the dates will find EVERCLEAR—ART ALEXAKIS (singer/songwriter/guitarist), CRAIG MONTOYA (bassist) and GREG EKLUND (drummer)–headlining their own shows, with American Hi-Fi opening. These concerts will follow EVERCLEAR's three-month sold-out U.S. spring trek with Matchbox Twenty and Lifehouse.
Meanwhile, EVERCLEAR's "Brown Eyed Girl" single (their Van Morrison cover from the LEARNING HOW TO SMILE album) continues to climb the charts (it's #34 on Billboard's Modern AC chart and #37 at Adult Top 40) and the ALEXAKIS-directed video for the song features actors Marla Sokoloff (ABC-TV's "The Practice") and comedian Andy Dick. In describing Sokoloff–whom he cast to play the "Brown Eyed Girl" in the video–ALEXAKIS recently told Rolling Stone: "I just thought she was beautiful and had an innocence about her but also a sensuality that was perfect for the video." In the video, ALEXAKIS is a chauffeur driving the streets of Los Angeles in search of his brown-eyed girl. Look for the video on VH1, which instantly added the clip to its playlist.
