DEBUT VIDEO FOR “CALLING”
ON ALTERNATIVE PRESS.COM;
BAND CONTINUES TO TOUR THE U.S. AND CONFIRMED FOR
APRIL 11 VANS WARPED TOUR KICK-OFF PARTY IN LOS ANGELES
BEAT UNION have premiered the video for “Calling,” which is up now on the Alternative Press magazine website: http://altpress.com/news/3640.htm. The clip was directed by Hurley Entertainment/Daniel Chesnut (Greeley Estates) and was inspired by the drinking scene in the film Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels. The video has a distinct European film style look and features lots of slow-to-fast motion, upside down camera angles and quick rack focus.
Hailing from Birmingham, England, BEAT UNION–who fuse potent songwriting with an amalgam of influences from The Clash to Elvis Costello and The Jam–are set to release their U.S. debut album DISCONNECTED on April 22 via Science.
Recorded in November 2007 with producer John Feldmann (The Used, Good Charlotte, Story of the Year, The Matches) at the helm, DISCONNECTED is a seamless yet diverse eleven-track debut that celebrates the past as it looks to the future with serious intent.
After just wrapping a Winter tour with Bedouin Soundclash and hotly-tipped shows at SXSW–one with UK acts at The Great Escape Showcase and the Vans Warped Tour/Alternative Press magazine’s international showcase–BEAT UNION have hit the road again for a Spring U.S. run (see dates below). They’ll also be a featured guest at the April 11 Vans Warped Tour kick-off party at the Key Club in West Hollywood, CA. Look for the group–DAVE WARSOP (vocals/guitar), LUKE JOHNSON (drums), DEAN ASHTON (guitar), ADE PRESTON (bass)–to perform on the Vans Warped Tour most of the summer on the Hurley.com stage. BEAT UNION has also been confirmed for Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival August 9 and 10.
