Featuring contributions from Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros along with nine emerging U.S. indie artists across diverse genres, BEATLES REIMAGINED commemorates the 50th anniversary of the recording and release of Beatles songs from 1963-4, including “From Me To You,” “She Loves You” and “I Saw Her Standing There,” which cemented the band’s status as rock and roll royalty. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros have debuted the lead single “I Saw Her Standing There” today, (September 30) on RollingStone.com. Listen to the song which Rolling Stone hails a “rollicking country version” and read the story behind the band’s inspiration to re-imagine the song in a unique way.
Due out October 1, the BEATLES REIMAGINED album will be released on Community Projects and 100% of the label’s net album sales will be donated to the Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles (www.rockcampforgirlsla.org). BEATLES REIMAGINED honors the greatest modern songwriters of all time while infusing their music with a distinctly 21st century twist. These new interpretations are not simply covers but have hotly-tipped U.S. indie artists re-envisioning the songs on their own from alternative folk (Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros), acoustic folk (The Well Pennies), indie-rock (Mobley), indie-pop (Jhameel), new-rock (Badwolf), new-wave (Adventure Galley) and electro-dance-pop (Night Panther) through downtempo/lo fi (Feverbody), old school soul (Doom & Gloom) and retro-pop (Leftover Cuties). The Beatles themselves were influenced by American artists such as Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Elvis Presley, and BEATLES REIMAGINED returns their music to the heartland that inspired them: the United States.

About BEATLES REIMAGINED:
In 2012, The Adage Group partnered with Round Hill music and purchased the North American publishing rights to songs from the Beatles 1963 breakout hits “I Saw Her Standing There,”“She Loves You,”“From Me To You,”“Misery,”“There’s A Place” and “I Wanna Be Your Man.”Adage CEO Herb Jordan and legendary music business entrepreneur Owen Husney of Zoom-Muzic executive produced BEATLES REIMAGINED and assembled a twenty-something production team including Tim Anderson (ImaRobot, Solange) and Kevin Carvel (Atlantic Records, A&M/Octone, NBC’s “The Voice”). They recorded BEATLES REIMAGINED with the rules that each artist had to be indie, none of the artists could be born in the era of the Beatles, none of the recordings could sound like a Beatles cover and all of the songs are from 1963-1964, the breakout period for the Beatles. “There’s nothing left for the Beatles, but to be relevant to today’s music,” explains Herb Jordan. “Beatles Reimaginedis a compelling artist discovery project whose mission is to reinvigorate the timeless writing of Lennon and McCartney through the eyes of today’s most creative independent artists, not through the filter of 1963.” Expect to hear these songs in multiple avenues as HBO’s “True Blood.” BEATLES REIMAGINED exposes younger audiences to the greatest pop writers in history through cutting-edge interpretations of The Beatles’ classic hits. The Beatles transcend music, having left an indelible mark on music, fashion and culture at large. The most commercially successful and critically acclaimed act in the history of popular music—with sales of over one billion units–is celebrating its 50th anniversary. They’ve inspired countless artists in the fifty years since their inception and continue to influence the tastemakers of today.
