BIG HEAD TODD & THE MONSTERS
TO KICK OFF 2005 TOUR IN WASHINGTON, DC AS THE
HEADLINING ACT FOR A PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION GALA;
BHTM AND FANS TOUR CARIBBEAN ON
A 366-FOOT CLIPPER SHIP
BIG HEAD TODD & THE MONSTERS continue to confirm dates for their 2005 tour, including a headlining appearance Tuesday, January 18 in Washington, DC at an Inaugural Ball. Hosted by the non-partisan Texas State Society, the sold-out “Black Tie And Boots” ball at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel will also feature Bob Schneider and Jackopierce. The inaugural event is hosted by the Texas State Society a century-old organization that was formed to “foster and encourage a fraternal spirit among the Texans at the National Capitol.” Regarding this performance, BHTM frontman TODD PARK MOHR says, “We’re there for the Party, not the party!”
In other tour news, the group is in the midst of a week-long tour of the Caribbean, where they and their fans boarded a 366-foot sailboat for an exclusive cruise and concert series organized by Bigheadtodd.com as a perk for the band’s fans. For the cruise event, the group teamed up with Star Clipper cruise lines and made sail on a four-masted tall ship (the tallest of its kind in the world). Styled after 17th-century clipper ships, the cruise includes 170 fans and 72 crew members, with the band scheduled to perform various shows in ports along the way.
BIG HEAD TODD & THE MONSTERS–TODD PARK MOHR guitars/keys/sax/vocals, BRIAN NEVIN drums/percussion/vocals and ROB SQUIRES bass/vocals–have been touring since the early 2004 release of the critically acclaimed CD CRIMES OF PASSION and the LIVE FROM THE FILLMORE DVD (both on Sanctuary Records).
