BROKEDOWN CADILLAC
COUNTRY GROUP SET TO PERFORM AS PART OF THE
MACARTHUR PARK CONCERT SERIES AT
LEVITT PAVILION
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10
Rising country stars BROKEDOWN CADILLAC will perform Thursday, September 10 at 7:30 PM as part of the MacArthur Park free-to-the-public concert series at Levitt Pavilion in Los Angeles. With a sound recently described by Country Weekly as “energetic, instantly likable” (6/22/09), BROKEDOWN CADILLAC are just one of the many talented musicians taking part in this family-friendly summer-long concert series that showcases genres from all over the world. Earlier this summer Grammy winner Jim Lauderdale, violinist extraordinaire Lili Haydn and the Latin reggae group Upground were among the artists who performed.
BROKEDOWN CADILLAC–lead singer CORRI ENGLISH, guitarist and main songwriter RANDY DUNHAM, drummer DANNY REULAND, lead guitarist DON IAN and bassist JEFF LEGORE–self-released their debut album SOMEWHERE IN AMERICA a few months ago. CMT.com took notice of their country-rock blend–highlighted by Corri’s forthright lead vocals and the group’s shimmering harmonies–and wrote: “’Baby’s Gonna Start a Fire’ will be just right for any country fan who likes the feisty side of Miranda Lambert and the blazing-guitars side of Keith Urban.” (7/24/09)
The Los Angeles-based group spent the summer in Nashville, allowing themselves to draw from all new experiences and inspirations for new material.
“Our time in Nashville was awesome,” says ENGLISH. "From the friendly welcoming people we met, to the lush green rolling hills, Nashville is a pretty amazing place and it just has this ‘thing’ that feels good. It is an inspirational town full of inspirational people. We love it, and plan on spending a lot of time there!”
BROKEDOWN CADILLAC made their national debut last March in the Walt Disney Pictures film Race To Witch Mountain performing as a bar band in the film and also had five of their original songs in the movie. Two of these tunes–“Southern Nights” and “Boogie Woogie Saturday Night”–are available on the digital soundtrack from Walt Disney Records.
