DISTURBED ANNOUNCE OVERSEAS DATES
KICKING OFF NOVEMBER 13 IN LONDON;
BAND ALSO CONTRIBUTE A SPECIAL TRACK
TO NEW ADAM SANDLER FILM SOUNDTRACK Everything’s kicking into high gear for DISTURBED, who are looking forward to their first string of U.K. and European dates while they continue to find success pounding the pavement here in the States. At the same time, their Giant Records gold-certified debut THE SICKNESS moved over 40,000 copies this week, jumping to #29 on Billboard’s pop albums chart.
Beginning November 13, DISTURBED will make their overseas debut when they perform in six cities throughout England, Holland, France, Denmark, Germany and Italy. Meanwhile, the intense and introspective Chicago-based band remain a heavy presence on the American concert trail, moving on from the main support for Stone Temple Pilots to join MTV’s Return of the Rock Tour ll on October 20 with STP and Godsmack.
In other news, DISTURBED–vocalist DAVID DRAIMAN, guitarist DAN DONEGAN, drummer/programmer MIKE WENGREN and bassist FUZZ–recently took time off to record their own unmistakable version of wrestler “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s theme song. On October 1, the band proved they could be in two places at once when they played a concert in Atlanta and then caught a flight to NY to perform on the monster ratings debut of MTV’s “WWF Sunday Night Heat” in Times Square. DISTURBED played the new track to mark “Stone Cold’s” long-awaited return to the ring, followed by their own explosive hit, “Stupify,” which registers this week at #8 and #10, respectively, on Billboard’s Active Rock and Modern Rock charts.
Finally, be on the lookout for “The Forbidden ‘Fu’ Mix” of “Stupify,” a track the band has contributed to the soundtrack of Adam Sandler’s latest film, “Little Nikki.” The new version blends the ferocity of the band’s original with the remix reflexes of Fu, who has made a name for himself remixing songs for Korn (“Somebody, Someone”), Kid Rock (“Bawitdaba”), and Deftones (“My Own Summer (Shove It)”). The soundtrack, which also features Filter, Cypress Hill and Deftones, will hit stores October 31.
