DRIVE A
BUILD CRITICAL PRAISE WITH ENERGETIC LIVE SHOW
CONFIRM APPEARANCE ON SELECT VANS WARPED TOUR DATES
DRIVE A amp up their touring schedule as they amass praise from both critics and legendary rockers alike (Tommy Lee, Don Henley, Dave Navarro). The Los Angeles-based band—whose average age is 16—confirmed stops on four dates as part of the summer’s Van Warped Tour, as well as additional shows. These gigs will follow the band’s hugely successful run as the resident band this April at the Key Club’s Ruby Tuesday weekly event in Los Angeles; an appearance at the massive Rock On the Range festival in Columbus, OH, performing alongside artists like Stone Temple Pilots; an opening slot for supergroup Camp Freddy at The Roxy in May; and a number of shows at SXSW, where they were included in Daily Variety’s festival round-up.
DRIVE A–Bruno Mascolo (vocals, lead guitar), Jason Nott (rhythm guitar, vocals), Ashton Moio (bass) and Terry Stirling, Jr. (drums)–is earning the respect of dedicated rock fans everywhere with their blend of rock and punk, with an indie edge. The band has turned out some kick-ass tuneage including their calling cards “Rule the World” and “Thrown Away.” Mascolo says the latter best defines Drive A’s sound. “It just came out as one of the heaviest songs and it’s chill playing it live.”
RECENT CRITICAL PRAISE:
“Meet Drive A from Southern California. Three of the four members are still in high school and aren’t even shaving yet (we think), but they play the kind of garage metal music that has tattooed-up veteran fans flocking to their shows. Our eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when caught them… leaping and head banging across the stage, playing some of the charged-up songs from the full-length album they just recorded with producer Julian Raymond (Cheap Trick). They are totally adorable and fierce – AT THE SAME TIME!”

“At 16, Bruno Mascolo, Jr. is on his way to becoming your kid’s next guitar hero.”
—Daniel Siwak, Music Connection (4/14/08)
“Every once in a while, a band comes around that makes you wish you were a rock star. Drive A, a quartet of 15-year-old punk rockers, engender just such envy — making even royals like Mötley Crüe's Tommy Lee and the Eagles' Don Henley raise eyebrows. Having just completed their debut album, Drive A are brewing a storm…”
—Jorge Barriere, Flavorpill-Los Angeles (4/15/08)
“…you've got no excuse not to check these hot young talents before they make it big—or at least make it to graduation!”
—Caroline Stanley, GenArt Pulse-Los Angeles (4/7/08)
“They dove enthusiastically into the set, banging their longhaired heads forward and back under the blazing spotlights while gripping their precious guitars for sweet visceral escaper. The boys put on a good show, jumping up on the amps and speakers, then leaping simultaneously into the air and getting a classic scissor kick in before landing back on stage.”
—Bourbon With Brendan, Campus Circle (4/30/08)
