DRIVE A’s live show has won them praise from some of rock’s big names including Don Henley, Tommy Lee and Dave Navarro. This week, the four young Los Angeles-based musicians–whose average age is only 16—will travel to Austin, TX for three showcases during SXSW: Friday, March 14 @ the Blender House (midnight), Saturday, March 15 at Red 7 for the Monster Energy Drink showcase (1:05 PM) and Blind Pig Pub appearance (2:00 PM) also on the same day. Later on the band will travel to Dallas for an appearance at Edgefest on April 27.
The band, who combine an irresistible modern edge with a classic rock vibe, have now made available a three-song digital EP of selections from their just completed full-length (release date TBA), recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer Julian Raymond (The Dandy Warhols, Cheap Trick) and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge. Fans around the world can purchase songs “Thrown Away,” “Everyday” and “Rule The World” at such online stores as Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic, Groupie Tunes and Amazon MP3. When asked about their goals for the album, the bands states simply and assertively, “We’re gonna rule the world!”
