As ERASURE–the iconic synth-pop duo of VINCE CLARKE and ANDY BELL–prepare for the release of their forthcoming album SNOW GLOBE, due out November 11 on Mute, the group is streaming the new album today (Monday, November 4) on USA Today. Check out the Q&A with vocalist ANDY BELL and listen to the full album here: http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2013/11/04/erasure-snow-globe-album-exclusive-stream/3430731.
SNOW GLOBE–a collection of original compositions and seasonal classics–follows ERASURE’s 2011’s album, Tomorrow’s World. The first single “Gaudete” is ERASURE’s take on the traditional Latin carol, which will be recognizable by many after Steeleye Span’s version in the early 70’s.
ERASURE have created a series of unique and beautiful stop animation videos with Martin Meunier (James & The Giant Peach and Coraline) and Tonya Hurley author, of the best-selling ghostgirl and The Blessed. Watch the dark and beautiful stop-motion animation clip for “Gaudete,” the new video for the first single from SNOW GLOBE here: http://tinyurl.com/mdrpysg.
Video still from “Gaudete.”
Unlike the bells and whistles, glitter and tinsel sets that crowd the market come Christmas-time, SNOW GLOBE is possessed of something more in the wistfully, strangely subdued celebratory mold of recent seasonal albums by Tracey Thorn and Kate Bush.
