ANNOUNCE HEADLINING DATES AROUND THE RELEASE OF
‘FABLES FROM A MAYFLY: WHAT I TELL YOU THREE TIMES IS TRUE’
OUT JUNE 12 ON SERJICAL STRIKE/UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC RECORDS;
Winning over audiences across the country with their “potent emotional hard rock” (Los Angeles Times) and absolutely killer live show, FAIR TO MIDLAND will launch a short headlining tour in their Dallas, TX hometown Tuesday, June 12. That’s the same day the band’s debut album FABLES FROM A MAYFLY: WHAT I TELL YOU THREE TIMES IS TRUE—released on Serj Tankian’s Serjical Strike imprint through Universal Republic Records—will arrive in stores.
European festival appearances and an extensive U.S. tour with 69 Eyes, Wednesday 13 and Night Kills the Day book-end the FAIR TO MIDLAND’s headline tour. The band—Darroh Sudderth (vocals), Cliff Campbell (guitar), Jon Dicken (bass), Brett Stowers (drums) and Matt Langley (keys/electronics)—will perform on the main stage at Germany’s Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park festivals, as well as at the UK’s Download Festival. The U.S. tour starts June 19 in Boston; the leg includes a June 20 stop at the Gramercy Theatre in NYC and a June 30 show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles.
FABLES FROM A MAYFLY was produced by David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, Peter Gabriel) and executive produced by Serj Tankian (System Of A Down). It’s highlighted by the lead single "Dance of the Manatee," which showcases the band's progged-out virtuosity, lead-heavy riffs and Sudderth's soaring vocals. The track is making waves at Active Rock and Alternative radio stations across the country and its innovative animated video can be viewed on PureVolume.com:

After observing their April performance at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, the Los Angeles Times named lead singer Sudderth one of six “Rising Frontmen Who Rate A Listen” from the festival. Check out the Los Angeles Times quotes—and other praise—below:
“During the young Dallas band's set on Sunday, the singer went wail for wail with System of a Down's Serj Tankian (who signed them to his label) and later convulsed like Iggy and hit the floor, helping intensify the band's potent emotional hard rock.”
–Richard Cromelin on lead singer Darroh Sudderth at Coachella 2007,
Los Angeles Times (5/1/07)
“…it’s Serj Tankian-approved Texan quintet Fair To Midland who steal tonight’s show, with their off-kilter, keyboard-laden alt-prog rock, falling somewhere in between the soaring heights of Dredg, the erratic gentleness of Coheed And Cambria and the Mars Volta’s visionary psychofugues.”
– Daniel Lukes, KERRANG! (3/2/07)
“The quintet's brawny, dire rock, punctuated by violent hard-core breakdowns, came off as the real deal, neither as overwrought or whiny as many young bands venturing into that territory. The difference? The range of vocalist Darroh Sudderth, who can belt it out, growl, croon … you name it.”
— Kevin Bronson, LATimes.com “Buzz Bands” blog (4/29/07)
“Vocalist Darroh Sudderth transforms from a timid frontman to a spasmatic burst of flailing arms and uninhibited vocal explosions that make him one of the most courageous singers in rock music…F2M are not a band that's going to just hand you a sing-a-long chorus, or a moshable beat. Like The Mars Volta or Tool, their skills are multifaceted and require more than just a distracted listen to fully appreciate. This is a band that deserves to be applauded for the chances they are taking.”
