FIREBALL MINISTRY PREPARES FOR FIFTH AND FINAL TOUR OF 2005
Acclaimed L.A. rockers to support Clutch on holiday run
LOS ANGELES – Capping its busiest touring season ever, Fireball Ministry – whose acclaimed new album Their Rock Is Not Our Rock was recently called “thoroughly badass” by Revolver, which went on to dub it “a dynamite stocking-stuffer for that tattooed biker uncle on your Christmas list” – will be on the road throughout the holidays, supporting cult heroes Clutch on a weeklong run that kicks off Dec. 26 in Washington, D.C.
The Clutch tour marks Fireball Ministry’s fifth in support of Their Rock, the group’s first album with new bassist Johny Chow (ex-Systematic). Over the last four months, the band has done two nationwide tours with CKY, one cross-country jaunt with Opeth (a tour that also featured Nevermore or Pelican, depending on the market), and a week with H.I.M., Finch and Skindred as part of the inaugural “Viva La Bands” tour. Expect the band to remain on the road throughout 2006.
“The H.I.M. tour went really well, with lots of great crowds and good times,” says guitarist/vocalist James A. Rota. “We’re really pumped to be going out with one of our favorite bands, Clutch – a nice way to end the year for sure.”
In other news, the group’s new video for “Sundown” has been accepted by MTV2’s Headbangers Ball, and will make its debut on the program in the coming weeks. The band will perform that song on NBC’s Last Call With Carson Daly on Dec. 16.
“The band is very excited to make our TV debut on Last Call with Carson Daly,” Rota says. “I think we’ll be a nice departure from TRL.”
