GLOBAL UNDERGROUND TO RELEASE SASHA’S ‘INVOLVER’
JUNE 22; AN INNOVATIVE PRODUCER/MIX ALBUM FEATURING
REWORKINGS OF UNKLE, FELIX DA HOUSECAT, GRAND NATIONAL AND ULRICH SCHNAUSS
SUPPORT TOUR CONFIRMED FOR THIS SUMMER
"Vinyl can only tell part of the story. I'm embracing technology to attain a new interpretation of mixing. Involver is my experiment."
— Sasha
SASHA is recognized as one of the world’s most innovative and iconic DJs, and it comes as no surprise that his new album INVOLVER, due out June 22 on Global Underground, is certain to attract attention. Feeling that music-lovers deserve something more creative as well as a personal need to challenge existing standards for DJ albums, SASHA set his sights on producing a redefining package–part-DJ mix, part-remix album and part-artist album.
Involver integrates vocal and guitar-driven tracks with the modulating rhythmic grandeur of progressive house, epic break-beats and ambient atmospherics. The set comprises selections from some of today’s top electronic artists and emerging talents including UNKLE, Felix Da Housecat, Grand National, Spooky and Ulrich Schnauss. Every track on the album is an original Sasha remix, re-creation or production recorded exclusively for this project and crafted with his signature adventurous sensibility.
“Its all great music, but with my own interpretation,” states SASHA. “Things like The Youngsters and Spooky are tracks that I’ve been playing for two or three years. I’m presenting them back out into the world again in my own way which is exactly what DJs always talk about doing. They don’t have the tools to do that when they are in a club. The fact that I got all the separate parts to the mixes and put it all back together to create my own sound is the ultimate form of DJing I think.”
Complete track listing is as follows:
1. Grand National – “Talk Amongst Yourselves”
2. Shpongle – “Dorset Perception”
3. Petter – “These Days”
4. UNKLE – “What Are You To Me?”
5. The Youngsters – “Smile”
6. Spooky – “Belong”
7. UNKLE – “In A State”
8. Lostep – “Burma”
9. Felix Da Housecat – “Watching Cars Go By”
10. Ulrich Schnauss – “On My Own”

SASHA (nee Alexander Coe) rode into America on a tidal wave of adoration from the North of England's explosive early 90’s club scene and for the last decade has consistently sold out every venue, festival or club that has been honored to witness his legendary performance abilities. He established himself as a formidable, in-demand remixer by reconstructing tracks from an incredible array of artists such as Madonna, Seal, Pet Shop Boys, UNKLE, The Chemical Brothers, BT, Orbital and M People. Other Sasha releases include the acclaimed 2002 BMG/Kinetic studio full-length Airdrawndagger (which has sold over 210,000 copies worldwide), the seminal 4-track Xpander EP and his 1999 Global Underground installments Global Underground 013: Ibiza and Global Underground 009: San Francisco.
