GODSMACK WAKE UP AMERICA: GODSMACK played a triumphant sold-out hometown show to more than 15,000 fans this past Friday, March 2 in Worcester, MA at the Centrum, one of the first few concerts into their “Wake The Fuck Up” tour. The Boston-based band performed songs off their triple-platinum self-titled debut album, as well as songs including the #1 rock track “Awake,” “Bad Magick” and their upcoming single “Greed” from their current platinum-certified AWAKE.GODSMACK—SULLY ERNA (vocals), TONY ROMBOLA (guitars), ROBBIE MERRILL (bass) and TOMMY STEWART (drums)–have created their largest stage show to date with gargoyles, gigantic stone pillars, pyrotechnics and a backdrop featuring footage of classic vampire movies. “Godsmack lived up to its mounting, multi-platinum reputation with a bone-crushing show,” said Steve Morse of the Boston Globe. He added: “There was no letup during a tightly packaged “Bad Magick” and “Bad Religion,” which sent the moshing crowd (and it was amazing to see so many women moshing this time) into overdrive.” The Worcester Telegram & Gazette noted: GODSMACK “rattled the arena rafters” with a “brutally energetic show-riffs by the ton and an underlying groove.” Fans who missed the show will get a chance to see it in its entirety with the future release of a special home video/DVD documenting the band’s homecoming. The filming was done with 13 cameras onstage, including three aerial cameras that captured the insanity of the audience. “It’s going to be a whole day event of Godsmack, from before the show, to the concert itself, to the after-show parties,” promises SULLY.
