“Enter L.A. band Hudson, a soul stirring, musically genius group that combines thought provoking lyrics with legendary sound. It’s only a matter of time before these guys change the music industry for the better, for good.”
    –Britt Michaelian, HUFFINGTONPOST.com, October 21, 2015

“No frills throwback rock sounds combined with the tight friendship of a lead singer with songwriting skills and band mates with unwavering instrument capabilities makes Cast Out a buzz-worthy release.”
    –Brenda Hillegas, ELMOREMAGAZINE.com, October 21, 2015

“HUDSON…play dirty, bluesy, swagger-infused rock and roll…It’s got driving bass lines, chugging drumbeats, whiskey-soaked vocals, slide guitar, harmonica…basically it’s totally…bad-ass.”
    –Chris Gonda, PUREGRAINAUDIO.com, August 19, 2015

HUDSON–the emerging Los Angeles-based four-piece rock ‘n’ roll band–have independently released their sophomore CAST OUT EP today (10/21) via iTunes and the band’s website. The five-track, self-produced EP is lit up with the band’s authentic and hard-hitting rock and roll.

Elmore Magazine premiered the EP yesterday (10/20); click here to stream.

HUDSON—David Hudson (vocals), Chris Llewellyn (guitars/harmonica/producer), Brian Cohen (keys/bass/producer) and Christian Thierbach IV (drums/harp)–is building on the success of their 2014 debut EP In The Unknown with their “dirty, bluesy, swagger-infused rock and roll” sound. That’s how PUREGRAINAUDIO.com described it when they recently premiered (8/19) HUDSON‘s cover of Led Zeppelin’s classic track, “Rock and Roll.”

The EP’s lead single/title track–premiered on PUREVOLUME.com(9/1)–was the result of the band going through a life-changing event together. “We wrote ‘Cast Out’ after a very traumatic, and in the end, unfair situation that left us feeling a lot of anger towards the perpetrators,” says Llewellyn. “We felt as if the justice system had let us down, and that the guys who did it felt zero remorse and got away with some terrible crimes. As a reaction, we responded from our hearts with this song rather than stooping to their level and getting revenge. We want our audience to realize that taking a negative experience and using it as fuel for something positive is the best route to take. This song has such a strong message and meaning for us that we decided it was the best title for our EP.”

CAST OUT captures the band’s powerful sound shaped by childhood influences ranging from The Beach Boys, Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd, to Johnny Cash, Pink Floyd and Nirvana. HUDSON‘s energy hits listeners with a musical concoction of no frills classic rock ‘n’ roll highlighted by David‘s unique whiskey-soaked, growling vocal style and complimented by his band mates’ unflinching guitar tones, harmonies and Billy Gibbons-esque blues stomps. Fans of Led Zeppelin, Jack White, Black Crowes and ZZ Topwill want to check out HUDSON. For upcoming album announcements, new music, tour dates and more, stay tuned at hudsontheband.com.

    About HUDSON:
HUDSON formed in 2013, though the seeds for the band’s roots were planted several years before. Guitarist Chris Llewellyn and bassist Brian Cohen–who’ve produced, written for, and toured with a number of major label artists–met singer David Hudson at a show. After hearing David sing a cover of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army,” they were immediately taken with the whiskey-soaked growl coming through his microphone and knew that they had stumbled onto something special. The two recall, “We grew up listening to great singer/songwriters like Bob Dylan, who had a tone that was unique and memorable, and when we first heard David we knew we had to work with him. We were looking for a lead singer who had the tone, songwriting skills and attitude on stage to head the next big rock ‘n’ roll band. We saw the potential in David and knew we had to find a way to work together.” Llewellyn called up Christian Thierbach IV whom he’d met while attending a high school summer program at Berklee College of Music to provide his thunderous percussion skills and round out the quartet in late 2013. HUDSON found their sound during a streak of live performances in early 2014, which included a two-month residency at the world-famous Viper Room and multiple performances at SXSW. The band took a break to record their debut EP In The Unknown which was released in June 2014. The lead single “Weightless” received critical acclaim and was put in rotation at over 100 non-commercial and college radio stations across the U.S.
