KASKADE TO RELEASE THIRD ALBUM
‘LOVE MYSTERIOUS’ ON ULTRA RECORDS SEPTEMBER 26
2006 may be the most significant year for house-music producer KASKADE with the release of his third album Love Mysterious on September 26. The San Francisco-based artist who’s been making waves as the breakthrough artist in his genre–rising up the ranks to the status of DJ/producer greats like Daft Punk, Sasha, Oakenfold and Deep Dish–marks the changing of the tide with a new sound by opting for more lush, guitar-driven and sweet vocal-laden tracks (“Sorry,” “Sometimes,” and especially the first single “Be Still” due out September 12) and a new label home with Ultra Records.
The album’s opening song is “Stars Align,” of which KASKADE says: “It represents how I feel about my career and the way things have been going for me. I didn’t consciously write it to express this point, but looking back on the record after it was finished, I definitely associate this track with my life. It’s about how everything has just lined up and somehow, has seemed to work out. I’ve been lucky and blessed and this song is just my way of being thankful for it all.” The lyrics of “Stars Align” combine with a powerful, kinetic track whose dark melody and raw rippling of bass pierce the listener provocatively, a common thread in the songs found on Love Mysterious.
Tracks “In This Life,” “Distance” and “Fake” cater to fans of Kaskade’s previous releases It’s You, It’s Me and In The Moment. Collaborations with vocalists like Marcus Bentley, Joslyn, Becky Jean Williams (there are no instrumentals on Love Mysterious) and producer Andy Caldwell (on the songs “Sorry” and “The X”) add a touch of shine on the 11 new productions on Love Mysterious, forming a beautifully sequenced collection of fantastic house music.

KASKADE launched his career in 2003 with his debut album It’s You, It’s Me. In 2004 he followed with In The Moment, which spawned his major breakout single “Steppin’ Out.” From Budweiser commercials to MTV’s The Real World, the rocker-styled guitar riffs of “Steppin’ Out” mixed to a bass-heavy backbeat was contagious in its appeal, and burst open a wholly new and original sound to dance music. KASKADE’s accolades and recognition for his song and other production work which also include remixes for The Pussycat Dolls, David Morales, Mark Farina and Floetry are numerous and include a nomination for “The Borders Award for Best New Artist” in 2004 to being voted number 20 in the “2004 America’s Favorite DJ Poll” conducted by BPM Magazine.
