Korn and Limp Bizkit…in a small venue? Together?
That’s what some lucky fans will get to experience when these two multi-platinum arena
bands–who raised the roof together on 1998’s “The Family Values Tour”–launch an historic co-headlining 12-city trek “Xbox Live: Back 2 Basics Tour” November 10 in Las Vegas.
Beyond enjoying performances from these two powerhouse groups, fans will have the chance to personally connect with a member of KORN. Contest winners in every city along the tour will get to compete head-to-head with a member of KORN on an Xbox game.
“We’re calling the tour Back 2 Basics, because this is the way it was in the beginning with the
two of us playing small halls,” says KORN’s JONATHAN DAVIS. “We wanted to do
something cool to launch our new album, TAKE A LOOK IN THE MIRROR and with the new
Limp Bizkit album out right now, it made sense for both of us. I’m really into Xbox, they have
the best graphics and the coolest games and I can’t wait to kick some ass on a phat new
Xbox game.”
This tour comes as KORN prepare for the release of their eagerly anticipated self-produced
album TAKE A LOOK IN THE MIRROR, due out November 25 on Epic Records. KORN have
sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and have received widespread critical acclaim
for their music. The band–JONATHAN, MUNKY, HEAD, FIELDY and DAVID–has
redefined the parameters of heavy music, revolutionizing the genre by matching unsettling
guitar textures and volcanic rhythms with jagged, introspective lyrics and intense vocal
stylings. “Here To Stay,” from the band’s previous UNTOUCHABLES album, earned KORN a
Grammy for “Best Metal Performance” in 2003. This marked their second Grammy; the first
was for Best Short Form Music Video (for “Freak On A Leash”) in 1999.
Since emerging from Jacksonville, Florida in 1995, Limp Bizkit have become one of the most influential bands in the heavy music scene and have sold close to 30 million records worldwide. Their breakthrough 1999 disc Significant Other, which featured the hits "Nookie," "Break Stuff" and "Re-Arranged," sold almost 7.5 million copies in the U.S. alone. In 2000 Limp Bizkit was nominated for two Grammy Awards in the Hard Rock Performance and Best Rock Album categories. Three years have passed since the release of Limp Bizkit's last acclaimed disc Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water, and in that time the band members have gone through some growing pains and developmental changes, and emerged stronger than ever. The outcome of that growth is the band’s fourth effort Results May Vary. Produced by Terry Date and Fred Durst, with Durst producing seven tracks on his own. The first single from the album “Eat You Alive” heralded the band’s return with the aggressive sound aided by new guitarist Mike Smith. The follow-up “Behind Blue Eyes” is currently garnering attention with its cinematic video directed by Fred Durst. The song will also be included in the upcoming motion picture release “Gothika” starring Halle Berry. These upcoming tour dates mark the first time the band will be performing live since the album’s release.
