KORN TAKE HOME GRAMMY AND PREPARE FOR NEW ALBUM: As KORN begin work on their new album, the group took home their second Grammy, this time for Best Metal Performance for their single “Here To Stay” from their current Untouchables disc. This marks the group’s second Grammy, following 1999’s Best Short Form Music Video for “Freak On A Leash.” Meanwhile, KORN–JONATHAN DAVIS, MUNKY, HEAD, FIELDY and DAVID SILVERIA–are writing for a new album, which they’ll self-produce this time around, and preparing for this summer’s Ozzfest. In an interview with Steve Hochman of the Los Angeles Times (2/23/03), DAVIS talked about the band’s work on the new music: “It's still taking shape, but it's different this time. It's the fastest we've ever worked–three weeks and 10 songs. And it's the tightest the band's ever been.” In a new approach, DAVIS will hit the road on his tour bus soon in order to focus in on writing lyrics for the new record. "I'm going to take off on a tour bus and start writing," he told the Los Angeles Times. "I never know what I'll write about until I'm doing it. I like the fact that I'll be on my bus and can go anywhere I want…" In other news, DAVIS has re-worked the theme song for UPN's "The Twilight Zone." The new recording made its debut February 26 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. The sound of DAVIS' remake is "darker toned” he says. “The opening is dark and eerie since 'The Twilight Zone' is a place where anything can happen, and it's usually something twisted and dark. I want to make the visuals pop out and give you that eerie 'Twilight Zone' vibe."
