KORN WANTS YOU!!! "KORN KAMPAIGN `98"
KORN WANTS YOU!!!
Instead of simply releasing their much anticipated third album, FOLLOW THE LEADER on August 18, KORN are taking it straight to the kids.
Designed like a whirlwind political campaign tour, "KORN Kampaign `98" will bring the guys–JONATHAN DAVIS (vocals), FIELDY (bass), JAMES "MUNKY" SHAFFER (guitars), BRIAN "HEAD" WELCH (guitars) and DAVID (drums)–all over North America to spread the gospel of their irreverently named "Family Values" platform to hordes of fans at special "fan conferences" that are being organized at every stop along the tour route.
KORN will hit the "Kampaign" trail in Los Angeles on Monday, August 17 before boarding a specially chartered jet, taking them to record stores in such cities as Orange County, San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, Toronto, Atlanta, Dallas and Phoenix. That's where they'll be talking to fans and answering all their questions. Each appearance is sure to be an event in its own right, with special guest appearances currently being lined-up with local celebrities, star athletes, fellow music artists, and even marching bands and cheerleading squads.
The "KORN Kampaign" not only marks the launch of the FOLLOW THE LEADER album–it's the precursor to the group's hotly-tipped "Family Values" arena trek that's set to tentatively launch September 23 with fellow visionaries Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit, Rammstein and Orgy.
KORN's inspiration to take FOLLOW THE LEADER straight to the people builds on their extraordinarily intimate relationship with their fans.
Since the beginning, KORN have personally answered e-mail and phone messages as well as given access to fans backstage and at video shoots via downloadable video clips, live online concert broadcasts and live chat sessions in the "KORN Palace" chat room on their official website. There are currently over 60,000 fans on KORN's official e-mail list, and over 35,000 fans visit the website every week. It's all these fans who have helped spawn one of the largest Internet fan bases and largest number of fan-created "unofficial" websites on the `Net.
And fans could look also look forward to the re-launch of KORN's official website at www.korn.com on Saturday, August 1. The website has been completely re-vamped to include a "KORN News" section, that will be constantly updated with the latest on what's happening with KORN, new photos of the band, access to a store where fans could buy the latest KORN merchandise, and much much more.
This will also be the new official site of "KORN-TV," the band's Internet network. The current "KORN-TV" website–found at www.korntv.com–will still be available on the Internet for an infinite amount of time, but it will only feature re-runs of "KORN's After-School Special"'s first season. It will also be the site of the first season's grand finale of "KORN's After School Special," which is scheduled to be broadcast live August 14 from an undisclosed location. Fans should stay tuned for details.
