“Filled with crunchy guitars, funky swagger and a memorable, timeless chorus, the band’s new single ‘Vanilla’ is one of the year’s very best. Produced by Grammy-nominated Sylvia Massy (Red Hot Chili Peppers), ‘Vanilla’ is the perfect sonic sampling of Love Past Blue’s sound. Guitarist Jack Hickman’s riffs are filled with angular textures; Joe Galate’s basslines come with prowling perfection and drummer Logan Ellis Sheppard holds it all down with gritty, percussive muscle…meanwhile, singer Cilo Cadence’s delivery summons everyone from Gwen Stefani to Joan Jett–she’s got a voice that walks the line between darkness and light and she navigates the terrain with an almost preternatural aplomb.”
Dallas, TX-based band LOVE PAST BLUE, yesterday (5/16) partnered with StereoEmbersMagazine.com to premiere their lyric video for latest single, “Vanilla.“ Click here to watch the video which emphasizes the “Vanilla” lyrics that encourage freedom of expression and the importance of originality. The song is getting early radio spins on Alternative Rock stations, KFMA-FM in Tucson, AZ and WCYY-FM in Portland, ME
“Some people group together in cliques to be ‘popular,” says LOVE PAST BLUE‘s vocalist and lyricist Clio Cadence about the unapologetic anthem. “I’ve noticed that these people start dressing alike, talking alike and acting alike. The people who stand out and are themselves have more fun, because they can do what they want to do! We are the next generation, we are the change in this world. We can stand up for what we believe in, and we can stand up for what is right, no matter what anyone else thinks.”
LOVE PAST BLUE—Cadence (17), guitarist Jack Hickman (15), bassist Joe Galate (18) and drummer Logan Ellis Sheppard (16)–fashion a sound that straddles the line between pop-rock and rock. It’s heavily guitar driven and infused with a hint of funk; there are influences of Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, and Evanescence. They’ll bring their energetic and musically skillful stage presence to their Dallas, TX hometown for a Warped Tour performance on Friday, July 6.
In the studio, the band is putting the finishing touches on a new EP produced by Sylvia Massy due out this summer via Dark Spark Music. Meanwhile, LOVE PAST BLUE has a grasp on their muse and is working on a subsequent recording project produced by Mark Younger Smith (guitarist and writer for Billy Idol) and Jimmy Quill; exact details on both projects TBA soon.

In late 2017, the band released “No Means No,” a song which Clio Cadence penned in March 2017 based off personal harassment experiences prior to recording it in July 2017. The song debuted with AllAccess.com (12/7) and Clio spoke in depth about the song with an in-depth interview with The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Click here to listen to the track aiming to further raise awareness in solidarity with other victims of sexual harassment, misconduct and assault during an important time for women in our culture.
