KICKS OFF OCTOBER 12 IN IRVINE, CA;
LYNYRD SKYNYRD–set to open their Jim Beam “VICIOUS CYCLE” tour October 12 in Irvine, CA with founding lead guitarist GARY ROSSINGTON, returning after a doctor-ordered rest period–will release a limited edition of theirVICIOUS CYCLE CD packaged with a bonus DVD September 23 (Sanctuary Records). The DVD will include a video of the album’s Rock Radio hit single “Red White and Blue” and a video collage of unreleased, historical footage from the group’s legendary 30-year career set to the music of their classic “Simple Man.”
In addition, the DVD will find behind-the-scenes LYNYRD SKYNYRD interviews, a special photo gallery slide show of the band playing for American Troops earlier this year in Germany and footage from the band’s 2003 European tour. The limited edition VICIOUS CYCLE CD follows LYNYRD SKYNYRD’s recently released THYRTY: THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION, which has already been certified/shipped GOLD after two weeks.
The release of the limited edition VICIOUS CYLE CD will be marked by the album’s second single “That’s How I Like It,” which goes to radio September 22. In the chorus of the guitar-crunching rocker, JOHNNY VAN ZANT sings a tribute to simple country life: “Like my women hot and my beer ice cold/A real fast car and my whiskey old/Like a slow drive down a long dirt road/That’s how I like it.”
In other news, LYNYRD SKYNYRD will bring their “LYNYRD SKYNYRD: THE VICIOUS CYCLE TOUR” Pay Per View event presented by Beam & Cola to 70 million households when it debuts Friday, September 19 on both iNDemand cable systems and Dish Satellite Network. Commemorating the band’s 30th anniversary, “LYNYRD SKYNYRD LYVE” was filmed July 11 before 17,000 heartland fans at the AmSouth Amphitheatre in Nashville. The nearly two-hour event–which was shot in High Definition–will air for approximately three weeks.
